Most of AG's lotions are accelerators that need to be applied three to four days prior to UVR for the full effect. That is why most of them are cheap as well. They may be good for moisturization, but trust me, your customers will get more out of a lotion that is not an accelerator!

Who taught mouthybrat about the features and benefits of lotions? You REALLY think you need to apply 3 to 4 DAYS before?? First of all, why do you think that AG accelerators are any different than any other brand in the fact that for some reason they need to be applied so much earlier? Do you understand that the whole point of a good accelerator is to MOISTURIZE?!? Healthy skin tans better, so if AG Accelerator is a good moisturizer, it's a good accelerator. Do you think there is a "magic ingredient" in other lotions that is left out of AG lotions that will magically tan you in one visit? The whole point of ANY tanning lotion is to moisturize your skin, which in turn gives you the "full effects", a faster tan, a better tan, and a longer tan. I would really like to know what OTHER accelerators have over AG that leads you to believe that they tan so much better. Other than added ingredients that offer tingle or bronzing effects, tanning lotions ARE moisturizers. Plain and simple. The higher priced, the better the MOISTURIZING (or anti-aging, anti-wrinkle, etc.) ingredients. Tanning lotion is all a matter of opinion. It's like Pepsi or Coke. Some people will argue that Pepsi is the best and Coke sucks, while you have another population that argues the opposite. You need to look at other things in addition to the lotion itself, manufacturer support, distributor support, perceived value, etc. You all can argue all day about which lotion is good and which one sucks, but in the end you will change no one else's opinion, and you will keep your own.

It amazes me to hear people refering to AG as crap. We have many large 25 beds and more salons in the area that I live in and they are all exclusive Aust Gold and Swedish Beauty. I think they are many wonderful lines on the market and none of them qualify as crap! What the client wants is what salons should carry anyway wether the owner has a personal hang up or not!
