You are both too funny. I am happy to hear that it will be a relaxed environment. I was worried that there might be a whole bunch of stiffs there. I am new and in the process of opening up my first salon in Dec. I wouldn't miss the Nashville for anything! I have learned so much from this site as it is, and I look forward to learning more. I was on the ITA site, and was very confused on what package I should buy~ if any? Any advice about the workshops and certifications? I don't know if I should sign up, or just get the floor.

I would suggest the Smart Tan certification, I beleive it is offered a couple of times. The show floor is a must!!!! The rest of the classes will probably be pretty beneficial for a newbie too but there is a bigger cost factor involved. Personally I think the biggest gain is networking with other industry professionals that you can maintain a relationship with throughout the entire year.

Princess-

We have quite a few people from the company going. What we are going to do is split up into groups and attend different workshops. Then, we will meet back up and discuss each of them. That way, we can save some cost, but still learn about everything from each workshop.

Good luck!

love, alarris

Princess, it is definitely a relaxed atmosphere. Tanning salon owners like to have fun. It is a chance to let your hair down talk tanning and meet new people. I say go to whatever classes you can. Two of my employees are going with me. We usually go to different classes and then we brainstorm (okay, maybe it isn't exactly a storm )new ideas. Even though I have heard alot of it before, I feel like I can always learn something. Besides, memory loss is prevalent in my age group.

BTW, Princess, do you wear a crown so we know who you are?

Pam,
Just a nickname my family gave to me. I never ever wore a crown, but my family would tell you it is always there. I'm picky (food, etc.) I like to get my way. They would always say that's all about me. After a while I would respond by telling them yes it is, and I'm glad that they all can realize that. "Princess" is always stated with a sarcastic tone and a laugh. I like to have fun, and have no problem laughing at myself.

That's okay, my kids call me the Queen because they think I always have to have MY way, so I totally understand the royalty thing. I have shirts that say 'The Queen of Everything'! Looking forward to meeting you in Nashville.
