When I was younger and had small children, we arranged chilcare ourselves. No gym had it, someone kept them while I got my hair cut. Us moms traded sitting duties with each other. I have several tanners who are friends and they take turns tanning while the other keeps an eye oin the kids in the car. We have husbands and wives who both tan in shifts so one keeps the kids. We make sure we have a bed when the second one comes in. Maybe a difference in our ages.....

We have a sign up that all unattended children will be sold also

We do not encourage children to be left while parents are tanning. Our waiting rooms are not that big and we don't need our chairs filled with a bunch of little kids!!!

I have been in business for 11 years and in the beginning we did allow mothers to bring in their kids. But when we had a lady bring 5 at once, come to find out she ran a day care in her home and none of the kids were hers,!!! one of our other clients contacted the state and they informed me that my salon is not a licensed day care and none of my staff were certified in cpr, pointing out that if a child runs out the front door, sticks their finger in the fan, etc. the parents can and will hold us liable. also it may start out as one or two parents bringing in their child, wait till it grows and you have 5 or more. Its stressful for you staff, paying clients that are trying to get some time away from their kids. We had even a mother bring in a 6 week old. This to me is a situation that can get out of hand quick. and even if you say we will get the mother out if the child is
getting restless. No matter how you say it, no one wants to hear their child is out of hand, and imagine what kind of talking to the child will get when they get to the car because mommy didn't get her 20 minutes in to tan!!!!

I have had a woman bring in five kids they took up a lot of space and were very noisy. We had several clients come in see people in the waitinbg area and walk right back out. There was no waiting to tan. Our waiting area is large enough and a lot of people bring in their kids, but I wouldn't encourage it. I spend a lot of time cleaning up after they've left.
I couldn't relax in there tanning if I was wondering what my child might be doing out there.

I run a High-End Salon. If my clients can pay me my prices for 15 miutes of stress free time, they can afford a baby sitter. No RUGRATS allowed Ever!!..would not be fair to other paying clients..Are you in the Tanning business or Baby sitting business???..Enough Said!!
