Our salon is due to open in a few weeks. My wife; who will be running the salon, has never used a computer. So, until I'm able to convince her that it will make things easier we'll be doing it the old way.
To the point: What are some of the ways that you computerless salons are keeping track of customer records? What do you try to keep track of? What type of membership cards are you using? Can you tell this is our first salon? Thanx; fineous |

I resisted going computer for over a year. We didn't know how much work we could save ourselves until we got computerized. Your software keeps track of way more stuff than you will ever think of to keep track of. Even if your wife has never run a computer, with a few basics, she can run the software. Our local library and community colleges offer 'computer for dummies classes'. Good Luck

Wish me luck, I've been trying for years to get her to let me teach her how to use one. I even came up with a simple database for her to use in her nail salon but still got shut-out. Maybe I'll let her read all of your post and see if that will sway her.
As for software, I've got Helios and TanTrack and been checkin out the others. I wanted to be ready just incase she ever agrees to use a computer. fineous |

I have been on SunTouch and SunTouch Plus since we went computerized. I am now reviewing SalonTouch and will probably go with it. Make sure you have enough computer to do the job. We had alot of trouble last year with lockups and such until we upgraded to a new system custom built for our needs. Thank Goodness my husband can do that. Good Luck

No way no how would I go without the computer! I cannot imagine trying to keep track of packages, lotions, customers, etc.. by hand! and imagine its spring break school just let out, everyone is getting off work and you have 10 (or more) people in a line... while your looking for their card???? No way, I could only imagine my stress level at the end of the night!
