I just got a bid for the buildout of my salon, and it comes out to be about $19/sf. This is a 2200sf location. This includes electrical work, 16 tanning rooms with trimming at the bottom of the wall and moldiing at the top, all the lighting, painting, doors, and also flooring (2100 sf of granite).

Is this a good bid or is it too much?

I think this is a decent offer. Of course we did all of this work ourselves. Dad is an electrician and my husband did the buildout himself. We had someone lay the flooring and that was about it.

We had about $20,000 in the buildout for materials for a 10 room salon.

Your location is bigger and paying for the labor that seems like a good offer.

Maybe someone who paid for their buildout can give you a better idea.

I bought a store in april that I had to add more rooms along with a/c, and electrical.
I averaged $2300 per room....
I already had flooring....
Sounds like you may be paying about 2500 to 3000 more but if you have a good contractor sometimes the extra is well worth it...
