Have you tried searching for a website? I know Texas has one and we downloaded the complete Health Code as it applies to tanning salons. Do you actually need the governor's office or the Georgia Dept. of Health? If you are in a large city, city hall may have a "business starter packet" loaded with info - Houston does. Good luck.

Forever Tan GA - I'll do some searching and see what I can find for you. I don't think you need to go through the governor's office. Tamar is right. Most of the time it's the Department of Health (state office). Occasionally, you may find county regulations. I'll get back to you on this one.

I did a thorough search of Georgia's state website. So far, the only thing I found that even mentioned tanning salons was a wage survey from 96 and 97.

www.state.ga.us

You might want to call your county office and find out if they have anything on a county level. If they do not, they should have a list of any facilities that have state regulations and should be able to point you in the right direction. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

GA isn't a regulated state, refer back to FDA regulations.

Hi Forever Tan Georgia
The OFFICIAL CODE FOR TANNING SALONS in GEORGIA is listed at this site. It is through the Governors's Office of Consumer Affairs (404) 656-3790.
http://gnsun1.ganet.state.ga.us/services/ocode/ocgsearch.htm
When you get to this site, scroll down to "search by Code Number" and enter:31-38-1
This will get you to the first page. Keep hitting "next" at the bottom of the page until you get all 12 pages.
Good Luck with your Salon. I am just setting mine up as well. Ann
