Hello Everyone--
First of all, I am new to this forum, but I have been lurking for a couple days. There is a wealth of information here, thanks for providing this forum. Anyway, my question is where should I go to get a counter for my salon? I hope to be opening by the beginning of August, but I honestly don't know where to go to get a counter. Kind of strange question, I know. Thanks for your help. |

We went to a cabanet store and sat with someone that designes cabanets. That way we got exactly what we wanted. When the pieces came in my hubby picked them up and put it together. I am sure if we needed we could have had someone come and install it.

If you are looking for pre-fab Store Supply sells them.
I would suggest doing what Teez did and go to a home improvement store and have one created on a computer. Or ask your contractor that is doing your buildout to create one for you. |

Cloudreacher-
That was a very good question. I hope more people will post and share with us what they are using as a front lobby service counter. (At first I thought you were talking about something that counts the # of people coming through your door!) We have pre-fab glass counters, with slide open backs currently, but are in the need of a more user friendly professional counter that HIDES the ..computer, cc machine, phone, forms, printer, fax etc. |

VIP - Write down a list of everything that you would really like in a counter. Height, width, inserts for computer, etc. Take all of that info to your local home improvement store. (Lowe's, Home Depot, etc.) Almost all of them have a kitchen design department. They can put all of your information into a kitchen design program and create a computer version of exactly what you are looking for. 9 times out of 10, you can buy stock materials and piece the counter together yourself or have a contractor do it. Although they may have to special order a counter top.
This is the easiest way to come up with something that is the most efficient for your salon and employees. Make sure to take in the measurements of the space you have allocated for the counter. |
