Has anyone "purchased" beds through a leasing company only to find out at the end of the lease....... (almost a year later) that the beds aren't yours? After 4 years in business I will likely have to close.

Who did you lease with? I leased acouple of my beds, and at the end of lease they were mine.
"Bankers Leasing" is who I went with.....

I used Tommel Financial although my payments were made to Granite Financial. At the end of the term I received a letter from Granite stating my contract was paid in full. Eight months later Tommel is threatening to repo my beds unless I make up eight months of lease payments and exercise a buy out option. I was unaware of a buy out option and don't have $10,000!!

I puchased 4 beds total. 2 at a time a month apart from Four Seasons. The original amounts were $8,000 & $10,000. The first lease was 488.00 per month and the second was 507.00 a month for 35 months. I paid around $34,000 total on an $18,000 original balance. I received regular invoices from Granite financial until the end of the term when I received the letter letting me know my agreement was fulfilled. Tommel contacted me on October 12 and is giving me until the 31st to give them $10,232.00 or they will repossess my equipment. I have 10 beds total ........ but I have certainly paid them enough! Four Seasons knows of someone in Alabama that has a lawsuit against them and managed to stop them from taking their equipment. I have hired an attorney but am not impressed with her performance thus far.

Did you send a letter to Tommel with a copy of the final statement from Granite stating your account balance was -0- ? Include the statement that all of "this" info will be forwarded to your attorney as well...even if you didn't have one. Sometimes they just need to be prompted to look at the numbers again. And also, if Granite financed, then Tommel should have been paid by them long ago. Maybe it is between those two companies. When they come to repo, have your documents ready; might need law enforcement on this one.

I have heard of this happening before with Tommel. Something about a buyout option in which you have to notify them 30 days in advance before your payoff. If not then the lease atarts up again. I would have an attorney look at your lease and give you their opinions on your options.
Sounds like a scam to me.

Yes, I did forward a copy of the letter from Granite financial to Tommel but their response was " they are not Tommel". My attorney has all this information..... but says I have to go Illinois to fight them. Yes, they really scammed me. Why else would they wait 8 months to come forward? Thank you all for your responses. NEVER USE TOMMEL FINANCIAL!

Contact your state and the Illinois Attorney-General, also the BBB and file complaints. Using the search function on this site and all other tanning sites E-mail all the other unhappy people out there and see if you can get some help.
