I feel that it is very important to make an employee manual.When I first opened i kept a journal and still do of everything that happened, from this journal I wrote my employee manual.These are the things I think the manual should includeInformation about the bedsHours of operationEmployee dress codesalon policiessalon toursales techniquesgeneric info about lotions (like whit is a bronzer and so on)eyewear infotanning tipsSalon rulesand so on....What do you guys think??

good idea forever, this way there is no question as what is expected from employees.

How about:Emergency Procedures which should include -- When to Call me -- When NOT to Call me -- Emergency Contact numbers -- Dept of Labor Unemployment (giggle)Health Dept RegsEmployment/Termination Policy -- Lates -- Call outs -- Vacations (ssshhhhheeeyyyaaahhhh right!)Customer Service 101 -- Dealing with Irate clients -- Client "emergencies" (theirs not ours)Pizza/Chinese Delievery Numbers101 Way NOT to get FIRED!!and finally"1001 Things to do list instead of sitting on your butt smacking your gum, twirling your hair around your finger and tying up my phone line talking to your boyfriend!"Feel free to quote me on that last one...[ July 25, 2001: Message edited by: Bronze Star ]

we also have a complete user guide on our tanning program how to run gift certificates how to answer the phone and what information you may and may not give over the phone, tour and pricing script, sales and lotion training etc.
