The tanning salon I recently purchased already had air conditioners in each room. This is the first business that I've seen set up like that.Most of my customers like to have the air on to help stay cool. There are a few that want even the box fans turned off so they can get as "hot" as possible.Does anyone know if having the cold air from the air conditioner blowing onto the bed cause any problems for the bed itself? how about the acrylics? I read somewhere that cooler the beds quicker helped with the life of some. Then I was thinking that the cool air hitting the acrylics might cause more stress.Any thoughts on this?

By all means the air will do nothing but help your beds! The cooler your lamps stay, the longer they will last. Air conditioning will cause no damage to your acrylics, and it is actually very good for them. A hot acrylic will warp much easier than a cool one, I have seen this first hand on several occasions! You may want to tell your clients that it is not necessary to get physically hot in a tanning bed in order to obtain a tan. They have it in their head, that the hotter they are getting, the better they are tanning. Not true! If that were true, it would be almost impossible to tan in a stand-up unit, or any unit that is properly cooled. Are we talking actual airconditioner units in each room, or air conditioner ducts in each room.And if they are units how is that set up? because it sounds real interesting!

The cooler the better for clients comfort, tanning lamp output, tanning lamp life tanning, bed life. acrylic life, and most important total tanning rays output and tanning results.Hot tanning bed rip your client off ,the output from the lamps is reduced.A 'Hot" bed is a crappy bed!
