airbrush newbie question

Have any of you used both the cheap airbrush systems that cost around $200 and a system such as Infinity or Fantasy? Is it really worth it to pay an extra $4000 for a system? What is the main difference?

Re: airbrush newbie question

I've used just about everything. My preference is a middle of line system. I have 3 in my garage that are more expensive but I have my favorite I use at both locations.

Re: airbrush newbie question

Which systems would you consider middle of the line?
Is the spray quality of the middle of the line system much better than the cheap ones?

Re: airbrush newbie question

In my opinion, there is no need to spend $1000-$4000 on a machine. I use the Tanning Essentials Machines, The Classic, The Glam, and the Pro and absolutely love them and the spray quality is awesome. The cost $259-$400. When I train people how to spray tan , some of them use their own machines which some have spent $2k-$3k. When they try my machines, they end up selling theirs and buying mine. Just my opinion though.

Re: airbrush newbie question

I would say between $800 and $1,200 is middle of the line.

That's about right for the middle.

Re: airbrush newbie question

Agree with the above in that paying higher does not guarantee a better machine. I would never skimp on the gun though.
HOWEVER, in my experience I find I don't mind paying a bit more IF the company BACKS the machine you bought in times of breakdown...in my case, the Evolv. I have had my fair share of issues with it. EVERY SINGLE TIME they have stepped up and EVERY SINGLE TIME worked the problem overnight to fix it at no cost to me. Never had that support with any other system. I would have had a LOT of bad days otherwise. Best Wishes

Re: airbrush newbie question

I've had a Norvell system for about five years, and have never had a major problem. For the occasional little things that have popped up, I'm able to speak to someone on the phone right away, and my problem is solved quickly. They have a few different price points for v their airbrush equipment.

Re: airbrush newbie question

Im looking into the norvell and ct systems but Im not really getting a feel as to why some are more expensive than others.. Ive also started looking at solutions and it seems theres probably hundreds of brands and products. Is there a difference between solution that goes into the mystic and handheld? It seems like handheld costs double.

Re: airbrush newbie question

Spray tan systems......Some are made more sturdy and some are made cheap. For instance.....take the Sun Fx mini which is $500 and all it is a pancake unit with an on and off switch, a hose and a gun. The Tanning Essential Pro is $400 or less and has 2 cup holders, a knob to turn for low power to high power, comes with 2 guns and a hose. The motor in both of those systems are the same. Personally Im all for the TE Pro which is exactly like the Norvell VIP. I've had mine for about 4 years and love it. Now I own many.

Tanning solution ....the solution that goes into the mystic is thicker than the solution that goes into a handheld, smaller needle in the handheld.
