Relationships w/ Local Businesses

Hi all!

I have been wanting to offer a discount to employees of gyms and fitness centers in the area and I was wondering what the best way of going about introducing myself and my business?

I was thinking of putting together a little package for them that includes my menu and a few "50% off First time Visit" cards. I was also going back and forth with the idea of including "discount" cards. Which would be cards they could write their name and place of business on and use to receive a discount with me on their future visits. But, I'm not sure if I should wait for that until they are in the salon. I am planning on actually going in to the business instead of just mailing them since I think that would more of an impression.

This is all about marketing and getting my name out there more, which is why I thought gym staff would make great "walking ads", but having worked in an office setting myself for a number of years I know that a lot of promotional stuff like that is just thrown in the trash.

Any tips or suggestions would be much appreciated! Thank you!

This form of advertising is called Guerrilla Marketing which is a great way to get your name out there. The package you want to do is a good way to go. Wait till they go into the salon to give them a discount card though. It's more professional to walk into the place of business instead of mailing them, not only that but people like to see who they are dealing with.
