Versa Spa problem - one side is darker than the other!

Hello dear tanning salons owners!

We have 2 Versa Spa booths in our salon and have been actually very happy with them. Till now. First I had some unsatisfied custumors who complained that their left side (especially the left leg) was much lighter. I checked it myself and had the same problem. While doing the treatment I had an impression I get more spray from the left nozzle.

I have already cleaned the nozzles but haven´t seen anything that could block the spray. After cleaning I put plastic bags on the nozzles and started the treatment. Then I weighed the bags and found out that the left bag has more spray inside... So the cleaning did not help..

Has anybody had the same problem? What can you advise?

Many thanks in advance!

First thing to do is switch the nozzle tips and do the same thing again. See if the problem follows the nozzle tips. You can usually test this by just putting the machine in the purge mode and see if both streams are equal. If they are unequal switch the nozzle tips and do it again. I have had to put the tips in boiling water to get the solution out of a tip or just replace the tips.

I like the boiling water idea. we had the same problem on our VersaPRO, but after a thorough scrubbing of the nozzle itself, all was well.

I would have the hose assembly checked.

Also check the check valves located on the side when you remove nozzle cover . Soak those and replace if needed.

you have already had problems with your VersaPRO nozzles clogging up? how do you take the nozzles off? i reg clean the 3 black rings and spray heads but don't know how to take those silver nozzles off.

The spray nozzle tips use a 3/8" wrench to take them off. Be very careful not to lose them, they are small and expensive. Be careful when you put them back on, they are a metal nozzle tip going into a plastic fitting and you can very easily strip out the plastic fitting they screw into. Make them finger tight and then give them a little snug but do not over tighten.

Does Sunless, Inc. recommend doing this? if so, how often? This wasn't included in the regular maintenance. I wonder why it wouldn't be.. especially, if it needs to be done to prevent clogging.

Probably just an oversight.

David, removing the nozzle tips was actually a suggestion from tech support at Sunless Inc, but Rich is right, they're difficult to remove and easy to loose. You'll need a wrench to remove and replace them. I'm not sure if it's just my units, but I wouldn't have been able to finger tighten at all; they don't budge without a wrench.

The tech I spoke with at Sunless Inc. did recommend including it in my monthly maintenance, although, because it's such a laborious process, I've been only removing the nozzles themselves as needed or every 3 months, whichever is sooner. That said, you're absolutely right, it's not included in the maintenance guide.
