Rep Power: 0 | Re: Airbrush Tan Pricing Thanks Delany. I have the Evolv and the product is wonderful, but far from cheap! We opened in August 2012, I offered $25 first time airbrush tans and had a great response. BUT at the $40 full price the customers are less frequent. In your opinion should I stick to my base price of $40 or discount for a bit longer to get the customers in the door? |

I rarely discount my prices, my prices are a bit high for my area, but I am the only full time spray tan salons anywhere near me. Sure I lose people to the cheaper places, but I price for my skill, overhead and specialization. if you are mobile, you should be charging much more. I get so mad when mobile peeps charge so little, using the excuse that they have no rent...sure, but you have wear and tear on your car, new insurance on your car since it is now a business vehicle, gas, travel time and all the regular brick and mortar expenses, like biz insurance, supplies, taxes etc |

Rep Power: 14 | Re: Airbrush Tan Pricing Good feedback on the EVOLV...I definitely like the idea of warming the solution for client comfort, the unit looks sleek and the no mess cartridge seems like a good idea. I have mixed feelings about intro pricing once you charge less your service is automatically fixed at that price point in your clients mind and I think it is hard to convince people to pay more...in essence you are devaluing your service. It is tough enough with all of the online deals and coupons. The ONLY time I consider offering a special price is for potential business contacts who will likely result in regular price customers. In my experience it is better to offer specials on product rather than services. Perhaps include a sample size of maintenance tan extending cream or another product. Besides there is something about having something tangible and physical...besides that little bottle will probably last longer then the tan and can serve as a reminder of how much they liked the results and want to rebook and why you are better than that no frills coupon deal place. |
