Re: Norvell VIP - tan results at 8 on the dial?

Hi Jenuinetan....Southern Cali is having weird weather...last week in the 80s and this week in the 60s. When I disassembled my gun I noticed that the dial was off the track therefore the trigger wasn't making contact with it. It's fixed now. But another gun that was spraying very little had a little particle of solution in it which was the cause. That's fixed now too. My advice to you if you wanna take the gun apart is to have patience because it can easily break. All the parts in the gun are snap on.

To clean my gun I use dawn dish soap and hot water, works well. I spray it through and submerge it under water as well. Then, I take the cup out and spray any left over water/soap out the gun. I love the TE guns.

Itsmeamg....the Norvell VIP....make sure the cup is tightly screwed on the gun. That happened to me where my gun leaked but then when I tightened the cup more it didn't leak anymore. It is best to have 2 guns with these machines.

Re: Norvell VIP - tan results at 8 on the dial?

I would trade you weather right about now! We've had record cold alert warnings this year due to the polar vortex and ice quakes I've never heard of the last 2 until this year and quite frankly could do without. : )

Thanks for the info on disassembling the gun (I so want too) and the tip on cleaning I always wondered what kind of soap other tech's used but thought I was safe to clean the same way as my airbrushes figuring the alcohol would disinfect and evaporate alleviating the water in the gun issue. Will definitely try the Dawn as I was concerned about the alcohol possibly drying our the rubber seal and plastic bits.

Thank-you & Happy Tanning!

Re: Norvell VIP - tan results at 8 on the dial?

Im going to have to purchase a new gun. :( especially since i'm down to one. I wish I returned the defective one right away. Maybe I will see what Norvell will do for me. The gun clearly shows the plastic needle was not formed correctly and spits out solution .

Jenuinetan.... Yes alcohol can dry up the seals. All the parts in that gun are plastic. Dawn dish soap and hot water works well. I will be putting a together a video on how to clean the TE Pro or Glam gun soon. Itsmeamg, yes it is wise to always have a backup gun at all times.

Re: Norvell VIP - tan results at 8 on the dial?

Thanks Paradise Bronze !

YES PLEASE do video and post pronto! I found it slightly disappointing that the Norvell DVD cleaning segment only had the other type of gun.

Stop reading this and go do that video! No pressure! ; )

itsmeamg - you should definitely contact your distributor or the manufacturer as my experience has been that they really stand behind the products and you should have a 1 year warranty anyway.

As you can see from the forum - we share info and let's face it - I can safely say that pretty much everyone on here has multiple machines even if it just a back-up. I agree with PB you really need 2 guns with these machines - my 2nd has saved me on more than 1 occasion.

Happy Tanning!
