Rep Power: 0 | pH Sprays - really make the tan more golden?? Hoping someone can shed a little light on any personal experience with pH prep sprays... I know several sources say that there haven't been any studies on the success of pH sprays. I even had a spray tan artist in CA tell me that during my training. But, as I was reading Norvell's materials - I saw that they indicate that the higher the pH of the skin (the more alkaline), the greater the increase of an "orangey" color development, and the lower on the pH - (more acidic) the better development of a golden/brown color. - - hence the importance of the pH prep spray - to balance the pH in the skin. Does anyone have any experience where they've actually noticed a significant difference in color with the pH spray? I'm just trying to determine if this really helps.... Thanks for any help you can provide! |

Does it even need to be rubbed in! :P Also - Do you guys charge extra for it as something additional the customer can 'add on' or would you include it in your service and maybe up the price a few dollars? |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: pH Sprays - really make the tan more golden?? Hi Peaches! I used to spritz it on the client and have them rub it in - and yes, rub it in or blow dry it for hard to reach areas. Then instructed the clients to spritz themselves a few months ago... but am switching back to spritzing them myself because they are using too much. Check around your area for what other salons include in their services and you can also pm me for more info. Have a great week! |

(ph balancer) or does it just depend on manufacturer? Anyone know if it truly makes a difference? Good question, to the one who started this thread. |

Rep Power: 19 | Re: pH Sprays - really make the tan more golden?? Definitely worth it. We've never had anyone look orange in almost 5 years of using Norvell. We get people in all the time from other places, saying they turned orange. They get sprayed by us and the first thing they ask is why they have to spray the "other stuff" on first, they didn't do that anywhere else. After we explain the PH thing, they are always put at ease and not nervous about trying spray tanning again. They always come back saying they got the best color from us. I tell clients to spritz it everywhere they are going to get sprayed, that they don't have to rub it in, and not to spray so much that it beads up and runs. We've never had a problem with them applying it themselves.
