Rep Power: 0 ![]() | What Airbrush equipment is the best bang for your buck in 2012? I am currently using an Earlex 1900 sprayer also refered to as a Maxi Mist I believe. (http://www.earlex.com/hv1900.php) and have not really ever been very satisfied with the machine. One of the problems is when you tilt the gun down solution will run out of the nozzle. I have tried taking it apart checking seals etc to no avail. I have had this machine for a couple of years and am thinking it's time to upgrade to a better quality system. So what is a better spay machine out there for under $500. I know as time goes by that everything gets better so I know there has to be something out there that's better than what I have. What do you have that you like? Also must be mobile. All the reviews on this site seem to be years old so looking for new information. |

I am currently using the Norvell VIP unit which I purchased in the fall (2011) I noticed they have redesigned it for 2012 changing the lines of the unit and the guns have solution cups similar to a Maximist (I think). The unit also appears to be sold as Tanning Essentials online. It is quite boxy but lightweight and I love the integrated gun holders in the unit. Plus it includes 2 guns so I use 1 for the sunless solution and the other for the post-moisturizing treatment. Both my clients and myself love the warm air from the hose between solutions especially during the Winter months brrrr. I was initially a bit apprehensive as it seemed like a lot of "plastic" and the guns tend to hold water but after using it now for 6 months I am quite happy with it's performance. It does however have the similar issue (you mentioned) with solution leakage which makes me wonder if that in part is why the guns have been changed for 2012. Only when I tilt the gun too much while spraying or sometimes I think if the cap is not threaded perfectly does this occur but as anyone doing mobile tans knows that can be quite unsettling mid-tan. I have been interested in buying a secondary unit from Tanning Central referred to as Clean Air unit with a gravity fed gun....so I will definitely be interested in what others have to say...great topic!! Thanks for posting! : ) |

It's expensive though, and the hose is slightly heavy because it's so thick. The thing is a tank, though. http://www.artesiantan.com/Sprays-of...-p/3000-at.htm |

I can do a tan a little faster with this gun than my old one & the all black looks much more professional than my old HVLP from American Turbine. I am really happy with my purchase. |
