Fair Skinned Clients

Hi everyone. I started airbrushing clients in December and have about 140 sprays under my belt. All of my clients look great when they leave, but recently I have heard feedback from some of my very fair skinned customers. I use Norvell Amber Sun, and since they are so fair skinned, convince them that the original formula is best for their skin type. Still.. however, some of the feedback that I have gotten is that the inside of their arms are lighter than the outside of their arms.. and that in some places buildup occurs. Also, a few ladies have indicated that when they shower, the solution just seems to rub right off them. I always use ph balancing spray and also the post hydration spray. Am I possibly applying too much solution for these clients? I tend to always spray the entire body once.. and then go back and apply a second coat. Maybe I should just use spray one coat? Any advice.

Re: Fair Skinned Clients

Hi
If their inner arm is lighter than the outer, this will probably be down to you spraying less in this area. However, you would expect to have your inner arm lighter in colour - even if you are a sun bather this would be true. You get build up if you are overspraying and in areas of rub, around the bra area for instance. I always use 2 light coats of spray that way you don't miss any bits and I find it dries much quicker. Tell your clients to pat dry after a shower not rub. If you are using a balancing spray you are doing all the right things, just make sure it's dry before you start spraying solution . Check to see how much solution you are spraying on a full body, you should only need around 2 ounces at the most. I dont use Norvell so I cant comment but I know it's a good solution .

Re: Fair Skinned Clients

areas around your bra/arm pits are not exfoliate well...think about how you exfoliate and you usually miss that are.

As for the solution rubbing off in the shower, they are either exfoliating, seeing the bronzer wash off (do you warn them that they have temp bronzer on and it will go down the drain in the first shower?) or rubbing their skin too hard in general.

Re: Fair Skinned Clients

I was using Vani-T and recently added Norvell's Amber sun to my menu. I'm finding that one good coat fades a lot better than 2 coats. Although, if they want 2 coats, I'll do it, I just let them know that I feel one coat fades more evenly. As far as the inside of the arms, I've started spraying the top of their arms first, then have them lift their arm and spray underneath. Then I tell them that the longer they can hold their arms off their body while I'm spraying, the better. My clients tell me not only do they get an iinstant tan when I spray them, I give them a workout with the positions I make them hold. LOL
