Re: Anyone apply loose Powder Application after airbrush?

I don't charge extra.
Instead of a powder brush I use a cotton ball or cotton pad for each client. I put the powder, I use corn starch, on a tissue and then dab it onto the client with a cotton ball or pad. I do this on myself, too, but on myself I am a little heavy handed. I have never noticed that this affected the tan development. The powder does absorb some of the bronzer unless you use very little, and it can look bad until you shower. It seems to depend on amount of aloe in the solution .

Re: Anyone apply loose Powder Application after airbrush?

I used to use more often but has not recently because solution I use quickly dries giving skin a soft, smooth feel ...but I used to mix powder with very little bronze mica so it is not so noticeable and you just want light dusting, once the client is dry on the body parts like under the breast, elbows and knees, dusting of light powder even just with a tissues will do the job...Hope this helps!

I buy small dusters in the cleaning department from the dollar store and clean them after each client. I have about 20 of them. I also get some after shower powder with chalomine...I just think it goes on smoother...and sprinkle some on the duster and dust the client down :) If any powder is visible on the skin it comes off once they put their clothes on. My clients absolutely love this extra step.

gward714, I need to try your technique with some of my clients specially in the neck and chest area because it is the only place the solutions takes longer to dry and feels the stickiest.

Re: Anyone apply loose Powder Application after airbrush?

I do this on myself when I spray myself...I dust the inside of my elbows and the back of my knees and it feels better afterwards. I also offer it to clients but most don't feel the need to have it.
You only need to lightly dust the powder over the skin but it works a treat for me :-)
I pour a little powder over a piece of tissue and then dust over the skin...there are some great brush cleaners available.

xx

Instead of applying plain old white baby powder try mixing some powdered bronzer to it first ... the shimmer is what i prefer, much more appealling than white under arms and butt folds!! :)

I do the same, and they love it. The Dollar Store dusters work great!

Re: Anyone apply loose Powder Application after airbrush?

I purchased a bunch of the elf brushes for $1 ea. (they look pretty expensive) from target, then mix baby powder and little bronzer in little plastic 1 oz cup w lid. I charge $6 to powder them and they get to keep their brush and powder set, and use it each time for additional no charge. W this along w the prep spray and barrier cream, I find it really adds on extra time though. I wonder if the extra $6 (the first time) is worth it.... any thoughts?
