Rep Power: 0 | so tired of "mobile" salons! I know this is going to p*** alot of people off but I am so sick of someone buying a $200 gun and calling themselves "salons" ugh! Several of my customers have done this and got accounts with four seasons... then they tell my other customers MY costs saying I'm ripping people off.. I charge only $25 per airbrush tan .. my solution only costs a few $$ per customer BUT I pay for employees, rent, utilities, insurance! Why does four seasons and other companies made for SALONS sell to these mobile people??? |

Ive had three clients try the "to their door tan", and "tan in a can" only to have their bathrooms covered in overspray, orange and spotted tan, and then calling me to get it "fixed". !! Im sure there some very good mobile tanners that have done their homework for sure, but there are lots of folks just trying "to catch the wave" and cash in on a fast buck. Just stay the course, the novelity will wear off and after a few bad tans, the word gets out real fast around town. |

There is a major chain in our area that gives free sprays and people turn orange & blotchy -- clients come to me for "repair" and word is slowly starting to turn around about who's good in town and who's not. That's the first concern a lot of people have... "am I going to be streaky or orange"... just hang in there and spray the heck out of people - offer to spray for bikini contests, whatever can spread the word about your quality. I agree there are a lot of good mobiles, and also a lot of people trying to catch the wave as mentioned. They won't survive long.... hang in there!

I charge 25$ an airbrush tan, and i feel as though i have done plenty of homework- two separate certifications, etc. Although I am soley mobile, but i dont find your post offensive because i have feared too that some of my customers might steal my clients. Some that ask too many questions or just seem "fishy". It is hard because i try to hold myself at a high standard of giving the bEST comfortable customer service possible... yet you never know when it may cost you. Sorry about your luck. Hang in there. If your heart is in it, it will show. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: so tired of "mobile" salons! I totally agree with you all. People here in Southern California think that they can just buy a gun and solution and go spray tan . Clients come to me to have their tans fixed and tell me what companies sprayed them. Since I do teach on spray tanning classes, I wish I can tell those companies what they are doing wrong. I've been in business for over 5 years now and have 20 years experience in airbrush arts. Airbrush Tanning is an art. |

When I first started my company and I am mobile only, other companies hoped that I would go away and even tried to make me go away but I went nowhere except moved forward and kept succeeding and I became stronger. And now those companies who wished me gone are gone themselves. |
