I am wondering from the sunless salon owners how that works with paying employees to spray.
I am thinking of starting an additional salon in another town and training a one or two college girls or someone (who will be too involved in or invested in something else to turn around and compete with me)
Do you pay hourly plus some per spray?? Do you also spray clients or just oversee the salon?
Things are happening in my life that are preventing me to have all that time available to spray that I need to because I am getting clients from my town plus the neighboring larger town where there isn't airbrush (that's where I would open the other salon).

As a spraytanner, I get paid per spray..not hourly.

I pay my girl per airbrush tan plus commission on spray tanning lotion sales. I have also promised her that there will definitely be room to grow as well. I want her to be paid well so that she won't want to leave me and start her own business and become my competitor. Eventually I think everyone you hire will feel entitled and want to start their own business but they don't realize how much we have invested in the business and how much time and $$ we spend on advertizing and so on. Let them leave if they must. They will find out how hard it is to build their own clientele.
