Now there are clients that don't get as dark as others, but here I'm talking about people who have zero reaction to the DHA. There are some very fair people that react very well with it and get color easily. All 3 of my clients were very fair with freckles and oily skin. The first one with this issue we eventually got color using the darkest color from JMT plus 25 dha booster drops. It looked scary dark while I was spraying it on, but I saw her tan the next day and it came out as a light to medium tan - very pretty. After that when I had clients with the same issue I would just keep using one step darker each time they came in until we found their color. If their skin is not reacting very much to the DHA you will not turn them orange by going that dark, but try all the lighter colors first. I never charge these clients if they are not getting results while experimenting with their color. Just be sure that that is the issue, not something else like they are putting on lotion before the tan, or using a soap or exfoliator with oils, not showering at the right time... I agree that some "real tan" can help some people if they are ok with doing that, but for those trying to avoid that sort of thing completely it kind of defeats the purpose. |

The sugar substance that is DHA in an organic form does not color their cells. You can douse them in DHA, but it will not work.. They are not going to tan from DHA, so they need to be put in a bed to activate the Melanin and SLOWLY build a base tan. Because most Type 1's burn, not tan, they are usually the ones who are against tanning and constantly try and kill our industry. They are the "choosen ones" of the dermatolgy industry, because they burn, not tan and therefore have the horror stories with the most impact on the populace. Once a Type 1 is sprayed with a DHA solution and grab that beautiful golden tan, their attitudes seem to change.. HUM! So we want them to be TAN! One problem is OILY skin. A good standard sample lotion accelerator only no bronzer is a PH balancer, that helps..
