turning orange?

I've sprayed for months now, but am still fairly new at doing this. I have never turned anyone orange. I've never heard about this and wondering if anyone else had had this issue. I sprayed a lady 3 days ago. I sprayed with a 7% Sjolie brand spray. I saw her the day after I sprayed her and her tan looked good and natural. Today she texted me and said she is now orange. How is this possible? Does anyone know how she could possibly turn orange after a few days, especially after it looked a natural color the day after? She already came off as a picky person, so I'm wondering if that's it? Or maybe she used some product that did it? I am completely baffled....

Seems that some people will say that even if they are not orange in response to being told someone got a spray tan . Usually when someone tells me they think they are orange, i ask them if this is the conversation they had and they always say yes.

Delany you are so right! People love to be haters! Especially about Spray Tanning . But.. to answer your question, Sometimes people want to get even darker so they apply self tanner and this F** up a spray tan ! I have a 18 line waiver that I make my clients sign before spraying them. After care is key too. They can look great for three days but if not using good after care they can start to look crappy. So keep track of whether or not they bought after care. It's like driving a car with no motor oil. It just does not work! I hope this form helps....


1. By now you have showered, shaved, and exfoliated. This gives you a fresh pallet of skin to spray on that is now free of all dead skin cells at the surface of the skin. We shed our top layer every two weeks. ______
2. You have come in with no lotion, sun screen, or oil on your skin to create a barrier from your skin absorbing the solution . ______
3. I will be spraying you with a PH Prep Balancing Spray before tanning to help you achieve that “Just off the Beach Color” to add life to your sunless tan, and pull the brown tones in. ______
4. I will also be prepping your hands, elbows, knees, and elbows so you don’t receive too much DHA in these areas and pull any orange. ______
5. After spraying you, you will dry for two minutes and then get dressed. Hopefully you have brought loose fitting clothes and sandals for your comfort because it will take you about two hours to completely dry. I suggest two hours with no bra to avoid creating tan lines. _____
6. After getting dressed you will wipe the palms of your hands one last time to make sure you have not gotten any sunless tanner on them. Do not rub your damp, freshly sprayed skin with your hands or they will turn orange. _____
7. Do not apply anything to your skin until you shower the next day. Please allow 12 hours for full development of your tan. ______
8. When showering the next day do not use a wash cloth, loofah, or anything abrasive to apply your soap during the whole duration of your tan. Apply your soap with your hands only. _____
9. Turn down the temperature in your shower, and blot dry with your towel. _____
10. Please be aware that your face, hands, and feet will fade faster than the rest of your body. This is because we are washing our hands many times during the day and washing our face with anti-aging or acne wash. The face hands and feet bronzer we carry is small enough to put in your purse and is great for touching up. ______
11. Please be advised that bar soap or soap of any kind that is not formulated for a spray tan will strip the skin or your color and lessening the life of your tan. ______
12. A spray tan must be taken care of. This means buying the proper after care products to achieve a long lasting evenly fading tan. Applying lotion 2 x per day is mandatory. Specially formulated for spray tans is key. DHA has a drying affect on the skin and in order to counter act this I suggest Hempz Body lotion. It is paraben free, THC and drug free lotion that contains essential fatty acids, vitamin D for calcium absorption, and completely penetrates the skins surface to create a barrier of moisture beneath the skin. This lotion is amazing for after a sunless tan or just your daily body moisturizer . _____
13. I also suggest Amber Sun “Prolong” color extending moisturizer . This bronzing booster will also reduce the appearance of uneven wear and patchiness. “Prolong is a rich moisturizer that contains low levels of DHA bronzer to extend the look of any sunless tan. It also incorporates skin-firming technology, delivering “dynamic copper” to the skin. Always wipe the palms of your hands after applying to the body. _____
14. I also recommend a touch up spray for areas that tend to fade the fastest like the bottoms of your legs from shaving (please always use only new razors and shave gently to save the top layer of your skin) ____
15. Do NOT apply store bought self sunless tanners. This WILL ruin your tan and turn you orange! ______
