Rep Power: 0 | Ingredients That Ruin A Sunless Tan I am trying to compile a list of ingredients in personal care products that will ruin a sunless tan (pre and post tan). I want my clients to have a printed list they can refer to when deciding what or what not to use at home. I think having a list they can look at of the "bad" ingredients will help them see why buying the appropriate pre/post tan care products is a must. I would really appreciate any help you all can give! I will share the list when I'm done! :) |

I was told Bar soap is the worst, and of course any products with Acids, or Acne soaps. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Ingredients That Ruin A Sunless Tan I got an email newsletter from Sol Potion this morning thought I would share what they said to do to protect a sunless tan in the summer. 1. Protect the sunless tan before getting wet. This can be with a good waterproof sunscreen. It will help to create a barrier between the water and your client’s skin. HINT: We like aerosol sport spray sunscreens. These generally do not contain petroleum or mineral oils, which prematurely fades sunless tans. They are also waterproof which acts as a barrier between the water and the skin. 2. When getting out of the water PAT DRY with the towel. Do not wipe the skin. Patting dry will avoid friction that can wipe off the tan. 3. Do not use oil based suntan lotions. As stated above, petroleum or mineral based tanning lotion, tanning oil and sunscreens will streak and prematurely fade a sunless tan. 4. Make sure to use a good daily moisturizing lotion when going back indoors. We recommend using Sol Potion Lotion as it is designed to work with sunless tans. |

Rep Power: 14 | Re: Ingredients That Ruin A Sunless Tan Dove soap or any moisturizing soap is great AFTER the tan, but not on the day of the tan because the moisturizing ingredients can create a barrier that won't allow the tan to develop as well. The tan will still turn out, but just not as dark as normal. |
