Re: Ingredients That Ruin A Sunless Tan

Cheap, smelly bathing products, moisturizers, long baths, hot tubs, excessive friction, excessive sweating, basiclly anything hard on your skin that dryes it out, or roughs it up is bad for a spray tan!

I always tell them I can not test all the products out there on a spray, but I do offer this body wash and moisterizer...then go into details. I tell them there is no way for me to know how it will react on their tan.

Re: Ingredients That Ruin A Sunless Tan

Any type of anti aging or wrinkle reducing lotion or cremes will cause the tan to fade faster & if used on the body can cause the tan to become blotchy. Some ingredients to look out for in lotions are Retina A, some acids, such as alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), salicylic acid (a.k.a. beta hydroxy acid, or BHA), glycolic acid, and lactic acid are known for their exfoliating abilities and are often used in anti wrinkle face creams, brightening serums, and cleansers.

Re: Ingredients That Ruin A Sunless Tan

I would avoid those on the body but I think I would rather use those products on my face even if it makes it fade faster (which I do) because I don't want to miss out on the benefits of my facial products just to make my tan last longer. I just use a good face tan extender. Thanks for the help!

Re: Ingredients That Ruin A Sunless Tan

If they dont want to buy what I sell, i tell them to look for products low in alcohol and mineral oil since those ingredients will strip the tan.

My hardest part is when they want to pick between the body wash and the moisterizer asking me which one is better. I just end up telling them they work best together to ensure the better results.

Re: Ingredients That Ruin A Sunless Tan

Did anyone ever come up with that list of ingredients that ruin sunless tans mentioned at the beginning of this post? I'd really be interested to see it...

Thanks!
