Fading Unevenly

What is the secret to making a tan fade evenly? I've tried several products, and all of them fade unevenly. I'm beginning to think it's me. I do use 2 coats, but they are light coats. Maybe I should do one heavier coat? Does anyone have a solution to this problem? It's aggrevating!

Re: Fading Unevenly

Have you tried them on other people? It could be you, seriously, lol, I fade unevenly in the SAME spots every time because my skin doesn't exfoliate normally. Everyone else is fine with the same solutions. For me it's more that some skin just stays on super long, the rest of the my skin fades normally, but certain spots on my upper thighs and under my breasts just do not exfoliate without a LOT of help. I have to use special lotions and really scrub. I will also just put a barrier cream on those areas and do a light spray to even out the color until they exfoliate.

Re: Fading Unevenly

Thank you, Wanterlusttan. I'm going to start doing one coat, at least on myself. I like the tip about the barrier cream too. Thanks again!

Re: Fading Unevenly

Also for prior to tanning prep, try soaking your current tan completely off in a bath of warm water & use an exfoliating mitt to really get the skin smooth. Moisturize really well for a couple of days & then try the tan again. Sometimes skin just needs a fresh start if you are tanning every week or close to it. I completely agree w/ Wanterlusttan, one coat sprayed well is much better than 2 if you are having an issue with fading. Good Luck!

Re: Fading Unevenly

I take a really hot shower, then scrub myself with an exfoliating scrub. That always seems to work great for me. The only problem I've had is towards the end of my spray tan . Occasionally, it will start to bloch. In that case, I just exfoliate really well towards the end.

Hi TST - I found this article on the Sol Potion website about patchy fading tans and what could be the cause. Check it out: http://www.solpotion.com/2011/how-to...-patchy-fading

Re: Fading Unevenly

Keep in mind the "blotching is not caused by the tan fading unevenly. It is caused by the dry skin shedding from the body at an uneven rate. Many factors affect shed rate. This could be due to friction as seen in the "gym rats", tight clothing, ill fitting bras, excessive perspiration, some deodorants, aggressive bathing rituals @ scrubbing with puffs, loofas, body scrubs, ect.
Also, if you over apply product it makes sense that area would be darker for a short time than the other properly applies areas. Furthermore, the darker areas would experience a higher degree of dryness due to the acetone component that's part of the sugar based spray. Leaving a "blotchy tan". In the end, one 'coat" and i really dislike that term, but one application is all that's needed or really wanted to achieve the perfect tan.
It's been my experience that the type and quality of equipment you use has much more effect on your tanning success than the flavor of the solution . Though when it all comes together, its almost like magic!!
