Spray Tanning Salon Set Up

I am in the process of purchasing a hair salon and I also do spray tanning . The salon is very small with limited space and no private room I can dedicate to spray tanning . Does anyone have any creative ideas for a spray tanning set up at the back of the salon? I know it's hard to judge without seeing the space, but there is a wall that I would be able to spray behind, I just need some set up ideas.

Hello Cassandraxo,

Could you give the community an estimate on the size of the room? 10ft x 10ft, or 5ft x 5ft... etc.

There are plenty of great ways to take advantage of smaller spaces, via using pop up tents, back drops, etc. Also, do you have ventilation in the room or are you going to need some sort of extraction fan? smaller room especially need some sort of "catch" for the over spray experienced during each session, otherwise you'll see whats left over on the walls.

I seperate up my space with curtains. But I only have one client at a time, so I dont have to worry about the curtains seperating

I have a pop-up tent but I'd rather not use that. The space is very small, probably 5 ft x 5ft I'd guess.

If you don't want to use a tent I would recommend curtains (darker colored of course to hide the overspray) & using an extraction fan for the overspray. Can you section the area into the spray area & another area for a changing room? That might make your clients comfy to have their own "space" for changing prior to getting their tan.

Re: Spray Tanning Salon Set Up

The bathroom is adjacent to where the spray tanning set up is going to be, so I'm thinking that they can just change in the bathroom if they want a separate space to change. I'm thinking the curtain idea is probably the best for now.

Does anyone know where I can get those u-shaped rods where the curtain wraps around?

You should be cleaning your spray room after each customer, or at least once an hour if you are booked. Over spray is just part of sunless sprays. I have a fantastic backdrop and still get overspray occasionally. I am just crazy about cleaning
