Marketing Ideas for Mobile Spray Tanning

Hello all, I need some help please!!!!

I started a mobile spray tanning business and I need some ideas on how to start building my clientel and getting my name out there letting people know that I do mobile spray tanning. I have business cards that I have given to a few people to give out. I have made a business facebook page. I put a post on FB stating that if someone booked a tanning party that the hostess would tan for free. No one inquired. So please help me with any suggestions on what I can do to get this thing rolling. As always, thanks.

Make some flyers...post em up at gyms, local bulletin boards, etc. Partner up with a local salon possibly? We are also a mobile tanning business. We sponsored a local bikini fashion show to get our name out there....and we've partnered up with a local salon. Of course she does get a portion of the girls I spray at her salon, but it helps build up business.

Do you have a website? The majority of my clients find me on the internet. I just did up a cheap one on Vistaprint and listed my biz on any free search engine I could find. It's been the cheapest form of marketing with the biggest results. I also look for any kind of fundraiser I can donate a gift certificate to and usually can set my brochures out at. I don't spend much money on print advertising but I will splurge on having booths at bridal shows or women's events. I would rather be able to talk to people face to face. Hope that helps:)

I have been running my mobile business for about 2yrs and I would agree Vista Print website is great and affordable. If you are serious about your business give discounts to salon owners or people who work the front desk at a gym to tan them. They are your walking billboards ......this isn't a business that is an overnight success! Work hard figure out the direction you want to go and go after it! Good Luck!

Many of our mobile clients will offer introductory specials to attract potential clients, for example $10.00 first time tans.

You can also contact local retirement communities, as they will have low cost advertising rates that can reach thousands of potential customers.

If you have a website, try to find free directories where you can list your company information. Always include your CITY/ZIP in your company description, as search engines (google) will list your information for anyone searching "Spray tanning in CITY NAME".

Just a few ideas, good luck!

On your facebook page, you should have a contest. The person that suggests the most people to "Like" your page, will win a FREE spray tan party. Where you would give that person a FREE spray tan and 2 of her friends. The rest will be 1/2 price. Basically, it's a way to get everyone to start passing your facebook link to hundreds of people in their friends list. In no time, you'll go from 20 fans to 300 fans. THAT will only cost you a couple spray tans, big deal. The point is, now you have 300 potential clients to be hitting up with advertising.

Print advertising is very important. Hand out postcards to hair salons, gyms, nail salons and even tanning salons that may want to refer you clients (for a % of course, if they provide the facilities for you in their salon).

VIP Cards can be made and handed out to waitresses of restaurants you visit, cashiers, salons, etc....

There are lots of ways to get your name out there. An unprofessional website may hurt your reputation more, make sure it's done right the first time.

Business is an investment, not only in time, but money. If you put no money or time into your business to build it up, don't expect it to pay you back in return.

If you need any other marketing help. Feel free to contact me.

Is there a way to keep track of how many people one person has suggested?

How did you go about sponsoring them? I am wanting to do the same, but not sure how to present it. Did you just tan the contestants for free? Offer them discounts?

Hotels. Most people do not understand how many wedding parties the hotel down the street from you hosts each year.

Look into Google Adwords and Facebook Advertising.

"Everything everyone else said"

At the hotels, are you leaving flyers or somehow making a deal for your services to wedding parties?
