First report of orange!! :(

I have been spraying for 6 months now and I knew it would happen sooner or later, I got my first customer tell me they turned orange after I tanned them. (Who knows maybe there are others, but they just didn’t tell me) It had to be my fault too, because I used a ph balance prep spray, and she bought a maintenance kit from me. This sucks! I feel terrible. :(

Re: First report of orange!! :(

I thought the pH Balancing Prep Spray helped prevent people from the orange tinge??

Re: First report of orange!! :(

It is. But I must have used solution that was too high in DHA% for my client

Re: First report of orange!! :(

Many times the caspers can't handle the higher DHA %. Anything over 10% can usually cause problems with whitey.

Re: First report of orange!! :(

ahhh yeah, i try to stay around 9% or lower if possible for my pasty friends. I live in MI where LOTS of people have the pasty MI tan....I'm getting accustomed to mixing to suit the paleness

9%-9.5% really pleases most people.

Re: First report of orange!! :(

9% is a great universal color that fit most customers. If you are experiencing orange coloring with 9%, it is typically is too dark of a % for your specific client. I would suggest trying 6% solution and see what your results are.

Re: First report of orange!! :(

It was 9% ambersun. I placed an order today for 6% sjolie. I am playing it safe from now on!

Smile Re: First report of orange!! :(

It is deffinatley due to too dark of a solution color. The reason hands and feet turn orange with any solution is because there is little to no melanin on a persons skin in those areas. So the DHA which activates with skin has nowhere to "stick". Everyone has different levels of melanin in the rest of their skin as well. some darken more quickly and some people can only darker to an extent ( in a bed ).
It also may be due to your product. Some products as you know have more erythrose or less which is what gives the customer a longer lasting tan.Ive only been spraying for a few months too and its hard to tell what products will be amazing and what wont. Dont worry about it though! Im sure she will continue to see you :)
