How often do you spray tan techs spray yourselves? I have been spraying myself once a week since August. Lately especially I have noticed 2-3 days after a tan I get terrible cracking of my tan all over my arms. I'm wondering if it is because I need to give my skin a break from spray tanning for a while?? The cracking happens with every product I have tried. I have even tried Erythrulose free products from TBT & sjolie and still get cracks. Any suggestions!?

What do you do to prepare your skin?

You should exfoliate, then use a sunless prep or maximizer product which will prepare the skin for the DHA spray. Then make sure you use a sunless extender product or high end moisturizer daily after you shower.

Don't spray yourself more than once a week.

I spray myself once a week, however I get the old tan off first. so there is prob a day or so that I am pale. But it ensures that I can exfoliate before the new application, I also moisturize minimum 2x day so my skin is always in good shape. Make sure you get the old tan off first.

I scrub the heck out of my skin starting about 2 days before I get my next tan to get my old tan off (or try to). I do use Norvells PH balancing prep spray before my tan. But I use a regular body lotion usually, 1 or 2 times a day to moisturize. Do you have any recommendations for other moisturizers?

You need to use a good quality after tan lotion. Norvell makes one called Pro Long that will help to extend the life of your tan and to also help keep an even fade going. I usually will sell at least a 2oz size with every customer that sprays and with the ones that are pretty regular sprayers, I will sell the 8oz to them.

I spray myself every 12 days because by then my tan starts to fade. I exfoliate first of course then spray myself. I use the Ph Balance prep on all my clients but have no need to use it on myself. I use my tanning extender 2 times a day.

A few good tan extending moisturizers are Norvell Pro Long, Supre Rain, Cal Tan Sunless Extender, MRI iGlow.

Are you all actually spraying yourselves, or having a tech spray you? Do you spray yourself all over? I'll spray my own face, chest, and arms, I tried my legs once. I'm afraid to spray my entire body, in fear that I'll realize I can't do it, and then I'm half-sprayed!

I am not brave enough to spray myself. I have trained my husband to do and he is not too shabby! I also wait about 12 days between sprays and take care of the skin before and after. Not sure what is going on with your arms. I hope you can figure it out though.

I spray myself except my back from waist up. Legs, arms, chest, face....that all gets sprayed.
