Unhappy HELP stop SPOTS from BRONZER

When I tried the versa spa (in a booth) before I started tanning I noticed it gave me horrible freckles because I did the bronzer instead of clear coat. Now that I bought product with a bronzer and have been practicing A LOT before I spray "real" customers I have noticed the same spots. I see most products have bronzer so what am I doing wrong? I set my compressor at about 15psi (obviously using an airgun). Should I raise/lower the psi, spray faster/slower.. any advice will help for my future test subjects!

Re: HELP stop SPOTS from BRONZER

Hi,

We have the same problem with our new VersaSpa - everyone gets the freckles on the inside of their arms, close to the wrist and sometimes on the hands and face.

The machine was set up by the people who came to install it, so I guess they must have done it right.

Any advise?

Thanks,
Bily

Re: HELP stop SPOTS from BRONZER

Hey Bily,
Im not exactly sure. Im spraying with an HVLP gun and i tried for so long to adjust the amount of spray coming out of the gun and the pressure at which i spray. I realized for my machine and gun i just have to turn the amount all the way down and the PSI up a good bit higher (25 instead of normal 12-15). I honestly believe versa has a flaw with their designbecause EVERY versa i have used (when i use a bronzer) turned me freckly. Booths to me spray a great deal more product because they are only spraying each area/side of the body once (for the most part). Maybe versa is trying to spray too much product which causes WAY too much overspray which causes the freckles. I thought at first it was cosmetic bronzer and would wash but it isnt. It is actual product being sprayed incorrectly and lightly patting off after doesnt help. Are there any adjustments you as a salon owner can change on your machine or is that soley to the supplier? My problem is still only half way solved because the product i changed the settings around with doesnt have a bronzer. Another bronzer i have still freckles. UGH.
