Sweating and Spray Tans

Can sweating too much kill the life of your spray tan ? I know that the customer should not sweat or get wet for atleast 6-8 hours and then have their first shower. My question is after that first shower, if someone works out and sweats a lot do they sweat off a lot of their tan after it is set in? If that's the case is there anything that they can do to prevent that besides Not Sweating?

Thanks for your help!!

After the tan....in my opinion, it's not about how much they sweat. It's more about how do they handle the sweat? I do my best to educate my active clients on gently blotting the sweat off, as opposed to rubbing the sweat off. Sometimes when someone is exhausted because of a work out, they forget about the rules of caring for their tan. There is a little wear and tear of the tan with active clients, but that is solved very simply by selling a tan extender. Take care!

I agree. I work out and run a few times a week and mine can last 7-8 days. That is because I am very fanatical about post tan care :)

Everything you do/wear affects the spray tan . The tan extender is key like state before.

Re: Sweating and Spray Tans

Yes, any exfoliation of the skin (which can come from sweating) will take off the tan early - it does not matter what kind of solution you use.

However, just average sweating on the body will not typically show any noticeable fading. Where you will notice it is:

1. The feet

If someone works out a lot and wears socks, you will notice that the tan will fade at their ankles and below. This is because they sweat while working out, and the sock works to rub off the tan (exfoliate).

2. Between the breasts

This area sweats a lot when women work out, so the tan can spot here occasionally if someone is really active.

I've never seen it really fade anywhere else. Besides of course the face, but that is even and just happens from women washing their face more than the rest of their body.
