Not sure why would you spray underarm areas to start with?? They arent supossed to be tanned and deordorant use will adversly affect the tan anyways. High chance of sensitiviity due to shaved skin and solution contact. Some of you need to learn your craft a bit more before you start in the business, so you dont hurt someone and get a bad name or get sued.
Not trying to bash here at all, just offering a suggestion to keep all happy, and keep the art of spray tanning in a good positive light with the general public.

I have to agree with you Kedmund about the secret, ( get it at w-mart, non precription ) That's what I use & have no problem after tanning. I think it has to be the chemistry of each person. But........the day I tan, I do smell a bit of bo, but after I shower & put on my secret,......all is well.

I don't directly spray the armpit area. However, I do spray the sides of the stomach and have the person lift the arm up while doing it. I lightly fan up towards the armpit. Also, I have def learned my craft and been in business for a long time now and am not giving myself or our industry a bad name. So thanks for your advice but you can keep your crappy attitude to your self because no one really cares to hear it.

It deffinatley depends on your PH balance and the solution . I personally use the naturally fresh deodorant crystal. It's hypoallergenic, paraben free, and fragrance free. It dosen't block the pores from taking in the solution .

My, my you ask for help and when the answer is not what you want to hear you get all hurt and stuff!! As i said i was not trying to bash anyone. Just stating the obvious observation of the decline of professionalism in the business in the last few years. A good number of these folks dont even carry Professional Liability insurance because they arent insurable (as they have no credentials to insure), because they arent licensed to start with!
This the reason i believe much tougher regulation of this segment of the industry is needed. As a business owner for many years believe me, today is the day you could be sued, suck it up, it happens to most businesses at sometime! Its the nature of business and the folks we deal with. One bad tan before a wedding on a bride and you will rethink your business liability insurance premiums.
If you took the post personally be assured it wasnt directed at you, i dont even know you. However, if "the shoe fits then wear it".
Most people here are truely trying to up grade their skill level, and theres a learning curve to deal with for sure. If a busy salon/spa owner takes a few minutes to chill and offer some insite and advise here that time has value to many folks here. If you dont find the posts to be helpful, just ignore them, they are not meant for you. But others may not be as experenced as you are.
Just the same, the answer to your original question is as stated in my original reply, keep the DHA away from the underarm area, its very common for DHA to cause an off smell if applied to that area. I'm surprised your training did not cover that! Have a good day, and be kind to yourself!

all my clients complain of stink no matter which solution i spray, and no matter if it is scented or not. I have read that the DHA combines with your natural PH to create a scent.

I always spray under the arms...clients do not want white underarms, especially if they are wearing a strapless dress. That would stick out like a sore thumb.
