After researching on here & talking with a few other salon owners, I put together a 24-hour cancellation policy... When you book your airbrush spray tan appointment, a $10 deposit (cash, check or charge) will be applied towards your appointment account. The remaining balance will be due at time of service. As a courtesy to our staff professionals, kindly give at least 24 hours notice if cancelling or re-scheduling: • If your appointment is cancelled less than 24 hours in advance, the $10 deposit will be charged to you. • If your appointment is re-scheduled, the $10 deposit may be transferred to another booking made within the following 2 weeks. This policy has all but stopped the no-shows. Good luck with your business! Have a great day : )

Now when someone new books an appointment I make sure to tell them that the spray tan technician comes on specifically for scheduled appointments and that has helped a lot. I do all of the sprays so if the client needs it on a day I'm not normally here I ask them for advance payment to hold their time slot and they never seem to mind. I tell them if they give me 1 day notice of cancellation I'll give a full refund. |

But if they are at all regulars, add a $3-5 upcharge to any services they are getting at the salon in the future(color, style, ect. ). I had one client do that to me three times in a row. So the next time she called an booked an appt. i straight out asked her if she intended to keep this appt. or should i just book someone else in her time slot. Since you havnt kept the last three appts. you booked with me? Let her say yes or no. She hasnt done it since. Stick to your guns. |
