Regular Spray Tanners and Solution Build Up

I have a few clients that spray weekly. I find that since they are spraying so regularly this really doesn’t allow enough time for the solution to come off their bodies completely. These clients know to exfoliate as much as possible prior to coming in, but there is always left over solution on their bodies (usually on their stomachs).

My question is how many of you in this situation are using a spray tan remover (I use Optimize from Pharm Tan) to assist your clients in spray tan removal and how many of you are simply relying on your clients to remove as much of the solution as possible and simply spraying over what is left over? I feel like it could take a significant amount of spray tan remover product and significant time to fully assist my clients in removing all leftover solution . (Maybe this is what I need to do though to ensure my weekly regulars continue to be satisfied with their spray tans .)

Thanks.

My weekly girls take a break every 5th week. Gives their skin a rest and is recommended by the NTTI online course. Optimizer is good too...just depends on what they prefer.

I insist they take breaks. I don't set a time limit as everyone is different. You have to have some waiting time for it to come off,it is skin after all. Optimizer burned my skin so I am not using it on my clients.

Re: Regular Spray Tanners and Solution Build Up

No breaks here... just apply less solution to that area, and just make sure you continue to remind them to exfolate, very thoughly each week before coming to see you. The skin does not need a "break" if your applying as you should be.
I've been spraying for 8 years and have had some reg. weekly clients throughout that whole time. Also through the cool months they dont need as much color, so back off the gun at those times. Also there are times the clients need a bit more color for a special event so lean on the trigger for em.
I would check with your solution supplier as to recomended application protocols... things change with time.
Keep in mind different activities, body shapes, clothing fashions, and climate, and amount of perspiration all work differently in extending, or hastening a tans fading characteristics. Inform your clients concerning those factors, they will thankyou for the info.
Also, the tan removers that always get mixed reviews is in my opinion, a little risky to use. By nature its a bit harsh on the skin, and i dont need lawsuits, and weird at home efforts gone wrong!! Hope you get all worked out, its really pretty simply if you just roll with it!!

Re: Regular Spray Tanners and Solution Build Up

i agree besthands, if you know what your doing you can successfully spray tan a regular that has i little bit of tan from the previous week. Think of it this way, if they exfoliate there are no yukky skin cells hanging off the skin so even if there is a little build up, reccomended that they follow exfoliating procedures its fine. My girls take a break when they feel like it, i dont give them a limit lol. Most of my solutions fade so each week they are coming for a 'touch up' no blotchy tans. :)

I have clients that get sprayed about every two weeks and never have a problem. The solution I use fades really well but if there is any left over solution , I have them use Sluff Wipes(exfoliating wipes). The wipes remove any leftover build up of solution and prepares their skin for another spray.

Re: Regular Spray Tanners and Solution Build Up

I use a pre tan spray from All About Me. Besides being sure skin has been prepped it seems to help the fading.
