Rep Power: 0 | Employees Mobile tanning companies: how do you pay your employees? Do you have them set up as contractors (10-99)? What is your commission scale? Do you provide the vehicle? I haven't been able to find these questions in prior posts. Thanks :) |

Re: Employees 1099 is only required for contractors that are paid more than $600.00 per year. Unless you are making really good money than go the contractor route. Just use Quickbooks for generating the end of year 1099. It is timely and costly to get set up as an employer and then all the things that go with it....to include the upcoming Health Care reform that will have you co-op on their Health care.. You also will need a better insurance policy to cover the employee for car accidents during worktime and workmans comp unless you specify that the individual is responsible for that portion. I see some folks set it up like a franchisee too. As far as I go, I have 19 employees and I pay a company to process payroll and they do everything from taxes, end of year paperwork, and quarterly unemployment reports. I have added business insurance to cover their vehicles while working and of course workman's comp and unemployment. No splits as these sprayers people are salaried and work mainly out of our buildings and some mobile for large groups. | |
