Rep Power: 0 | How do you get through the winter? I started my spray tan business in winter (im from Australia) Ive been tanning for years and now have my own place and i am very very good at what i do. However now its starting to get into the cold part of winter my tans have dropped from min 20 a week to 2-3. Now in summer i will obviously getting ALOT ALOT more as all clients are very happy. But its just too too cold and they all cover up. I want some ideas to try and get some clients in to get me through to summer. Even non spray tan ideas. Im thinking of getting trained in Eyelash extensions as ive had some enquiries but the kits in Australia are over $800 PLUS training :( I want to do napoleon makeup as everyone wants it but its like a $10,000 open order (well ALOT anyways lol) Also the promotional things i do are- $20 tans on rainy days (my tans are $25-$30 due to close competition), discounts on bulk etc. Im sorry for the vague explanation im about to start work lol Thanks for any of the help!

Re: How do you get through the winter? Most of us bank what we can in season. Also those famous words...Line Of Credit. More reason to diversify so that you have cash flow in the winter. Most people just don't tan in the winter and no matter what your sale or deal they just don't tan. You might offer hydration sprays for dry skin in winter. Also, do spray tan parties in co-op with others (like jewelery sellers) at a super good price to introduce spray tanning . Give a coupon for in season so they come in. Offer educational seminars with wine and cheese. Talk about skin care and your product (I would have a skin care line to sell as well). Bring in another speaker to talk about relaxation or some fun subject and then offer a coupon for attending that night that they have to use in a few weeks. I survive with other business revenue. | |

Re: How do you get through the winter? I use both Versa Spa and Norvell moisture spray. I typically sell single hydration moisture sprays more in the Versa Spa booth because then it dries them off. Great sell in the winter for dry skin!! I like to use the Versa Spa for the Prep spray prior to handspray....then I don't have to change out container solution for air brush.
