Rep Power: 0 | Percentage to Pay Salon Owner Hello there! I am looking for some input. I have a mobile tanning business but will begin seeing clients at a waxing salon as well. The owner of the salon and I are in discussions about the percentage I should pay her for each tan. We are thinking between 20-30%. Does anybody have any thoughts/advice/experience with this? Thanks! |

But i believe most salons just have their own people do the spraying, most likely for liability reasons i suspect. Good luck!! |

I have my own website, cards, flyers etc. I will also be providing all of my necessary supplies...product, towels etc. With that being said would 25% be more fair? Thanks everybody! |

(salon) It doesn't matter if you are doing advertising and have your own website and all of your own supplies, you are drawing off of the salons advertising, brick and mortar, reputation, consistent visibility, liability, etc... You have none of that. To be fair, if you were so busy then you would not need to draw from the salon. Also, if you are drawing from their client base, it is an opportunity for you to lure them away. Hair stylists do this all of the time when they move to a new salon or go on their own, they take the salon's income with them. Salon gets 60, tech gets 40. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Percentage to Pay Salon Owner I have a room in an upscale salon and I pay 40% to the owner. Granted I do tan quite a few of their clients but I bring in a lot more clients through my website and my own advertising. I do help out a lot on any down time- phones, laundry, scheduling etc. so he really appreciates that. Sorry but there is no way I would pay 60% buying my own supplies and as many people as I am bringing into the salon on my own. |
