Question Keeping Employees Safe While Airbrushing?

I am a new salon owner and am looking to tap into the aspect of the industry that is sunless.

I only have one main concern.

How do I keep the girls that work for me safe while spraying a male client that may not be very professional about things?

When I worked at salons as a teenager, we had creepy dudes peeking over walls and stuff. I can only imagine the drama if one gets one of these girls in a room alone....?

Any input on how ya'll do this?

First of all, use common sense. Don't allow a girl to spray a man when alone at the salon. If you're concerned, then maybe YOU should be the only one spraying men. If they're not going to wear anything (which it sounds like you may be implying), then I would definitely suggest you spray them, and not your employees. We've been doing sunless for about a year now, and I've only had one man go nude. We have very few men in general get spray tans .

Dudes peeking over walls?? What?

Sure enough!

In the 5 years I worked at the salon as a teenager, we had two perves that peeked over walls, trying to see women tanning in beds. They would start their own tanning bed, then climb up on the stool, and try to see over! Sick.

(The walls were open at the tops at this particular salon, which I don't have at my own right now, thank God)

It's reassuring that you have only had one dude go nude for spray tan !

Thanks for the advice!

I've found a spiked dog collar, leash and a riding crop to be the most effective way to control male clients.
if you are worried about it no nude males no exceptions.
My stylists tell stories about guys that would come in for a wax, they get off on exposing themselves, some men also would fondle themselves while getting shampooed so it's a strange type. I haven't heard of assaults by clients

Re: Keeping Employees Safe While Airbrushing?

Have you considered a unit like mystic/magic/versa? Where they can get sprayed alone and no one is in there with them? That would eliminate the awkward alone time. I can understand it's expensive but could be worth it.

Thumbs up Re: Keeping Employees Safe While Airbrushing?

I appreciate all the feedback on this (yes, the serious and sarcastic). I am totally considering all of it right now...

We have a handful of men that come in on a regular basis. We get more around Halloween. Our rule is at least a G-string on the guys cause I don't care to be staring Peter in the eye! :O)
I have only had one guy ask if we do nudes and I replied men are required some sort of under garment.
