Re: New Season ..... No changes....

Exactly Eileen. If a vendor can help with a question then yes please help us out. But when every thread is "my product" "my product". Well that just helps no one but the vendor and truthfully makes me never want to try the product. If you have to push your product that much well.....something is wrong.

That was 9 months and 13 pages of posts ago.

In the meantime, many other posters - paid sponsors for this site and others - have weighed in on their opinions on the solution YOU tried and loved - as well as other ones THEY have tried and loved - or didn't love. In some cases, the sponsors have made offers for OTHER people looking for Sunless solution to try their product for free - I'm sure many were happy to have that offer!

It didn't appear you were looking for "feedback" - that is, you weren't saying "hey - before I waste my money - anyone try this one yet??".

Instead, you were just making a declaration of support for a company you like that was bringing out a new solution in their line.

That said - I don't think it is a "hijack" of "your" thread for others to chime in....even if they say something other than what you said to start it.

We moderators do what we can to make this a nice site for ALL. Sorry if you don't always agree with our approach to the "big picture" but it would be appreciated if you didn't try to dictate what people may participate in what threads, what they may say AND what we mods must do when it doesn't fit what you prefer or risk being "called out".

Thanks!
Sunsally & All

My apologies for not posting soon enough to your liking with regard to my testimonial about Morrocan Mineral unfortunately I was busy building my business and working a full time job. Sunsally, your literary critique is mind baffling if you read the posts i made within that thread i also discus all the solutions i use ....NOT just purespa solutions ... and i didnt purchase the 172.00 gallon, but (if you read) i tried it out first....to make accusations that im trying to 'sell' or 'push' this product is ludicrous.... I post my opinions on the products i use! I am not a vendor nor a distributor nor a salesperson... I am a salon owner and like to openly discuss products and chat with others about new products. so i have NO AGENDA..... I would like to make that clear.

The reason why i posted the thread was because Moroccan Mineral was just released and it is very different from many solutions that are being sold. I was excited about a new solution and couldnt wait to try it .... and wanted to discuss with others that had as well. This didnt really happen because it went off topic...

If i seem to be 'pushing' a product its because its good and my clients love it. PERIOD

I posted that thread specifically to discuss a specific solution . This is not a singular incidence of people posting thread subject about a particular product. Infact many posts are about specific products.. some of which are of paid sponsors ... which is fine....

I find it VERY helpful when threads are created about specific products and is even BETTER and MORE HELPFUL when they stay on topic.

Many of you moderators advise newbies to search the forums for answers..... doesnt help much when they are looking for answers or a discussion on a specific product then finally find a thread topic about it... then have to be forced to scroll down 3 pages to get to specific information about it because the thread went off topic by other posters discussing something nothing to do with the topic of the thread.

Im sure many of you UV posters would not appreciate posting a thread about a specific bed and then someone coming on that thread and going off topic and trying to lease you beds or sell you beds and discuss things that have nothing to do the original subject that was posted.

Again what is the plan going forward with regard to advertisers? Will they have carte blanche to post their sales and advertising within the posts in the forum or will the sales pitches and advertising be limited to banner ads?

Im sorry to any of you if I seem like I 'own' this site and that is not my intent. My intent was to be able to openly and honestly discuss issues that many people have noted in the past.

I wish you all the best success and hope you have a great season.

Im done with this dog and pony show....

out.

Re: New Season ..... No changes....

Kgg you are one of the few exclusively spray posters that has valuable information to share with others. A lot of others want the information handed to them without doing the research for their business.

I sincerely hope your above statement does not mean you won't be posting...

Re: New Season ..... No changes....

Kgg, I've gained some great info. from your posts. As a spray tanner myself, it's been very valuable for me to read and share info on specific products and equipment in the industry. Keep on posting! Otherwise feel free to message me as I'd love to swap out info and experience with any spray tanner or salon owner on this site.

Re: New Season ..... No changes....

I agree that posts should be replied to by vendors only when a question is asked, it should never be Hijacked with "try my solution ". That is bad business in my honest opinion.

We would not be against any rules regulating vendors posting on threads specifically targeted for our own brands, as it is "good business" to stay out of others threads.

Plus, who ever wants to read threads when EVERY THREAD is replied by a vendor stating thier solution , that becomes spam more than helpful information. This website is meant to help companies improve services, helping eachother build a better business practice, ect.

Re: New Season ..... No changes....

As moderators, we will continue to monitor the site, as the mods always have, and take action if it is deemed necessary.

As posters, you can continue to ignore posts you don't like, and not frequent vendors you find overbearing.

As vendors, keep in mind that what is "helpful" to some may be seen as "pushy" to others. Continue to do your best to participate in ways that will best benefit the SITE, the MEMBERS, AND your BUSINESS.

Happy posting and tanning to all!
