Gimmie Brown

Does anyone recommend this solution ? I have a lot of very fair skinned clients and was wondering if this would be a good one for them. If you are using a 10% solution on fair skin, do you spray them once or twice? I find it really hard to spray someone with very light skin. They either don't achieve the color they desire or they don't hardly looked tanned after the first shower. I thought this may be a good solution to try on them. What does everyone think?

Re: Gimmie Brown

I use Aviva Labs and have heard good things about Gimmie Brown.
They are making a new solution that will be for both hvlp and airbrush systems. I have been using the airbrush solution for several years now and love it!!

If you have skin type I clients you should be using a solution with a light color guide

darker color guide solutions tend to fade poorly on skin type I's

Im from Illinois too, and I think it's a common request around here to be darker, for some reason. Maybe it's the long winters. I use Gimme Brown 12% on myself and a few clients during the summer. I require that they get pre-sprayed and moisture locked (Norvell has a new product that is a spray moisturizer for use while your tan is developing, so you can even use this instead to retail). They are throughly warned about fading, and it seems that if the client really takes care of the tan, fading doesn't seem to be that bad. It is a good upsell tan in my opinion.

Re: Gimmie Brown

I tried gimme brown last friday. I was advised by aviva that gimme brown is for dark complexion. I tried it anyway. I am about a level 2 skin tone and it looked great going on. Not a sticky as some but it is not fading well. I is kinda splotchy and uneven. Plus my freckle stand out like crazy and that hasnt happened with other products I use. I guess when they say gimme brown is for darker skin then I should listen! lol I am gonna try the express tonight and see how that is. If anyone has used it please let me know what you think. It seems a little pink.

I have a hard time seeing the solution go on (especially on the lower legs). Would it be a bad thing to add bronzing drops so it's easier to see on the skin? I'm completely mobile and can't always control the environment.

Re: Gimmie Brown

Coming off a long winter we recommend to our customers to start with a lower percentage of DHA solution to start spraying their clients. Encourage the customer to use a good moisturizing tan extender to encourage the skin to accept the additional spray tans and it will increase the life of their tans. White skin that has dried out over the winter should not be sprayed with such a heavy concentration.
