Re: SJolie New Solution REVIEWS

Got my Sjolie the other day and could not wait to try.... Tanned last night but i have a few questions.

I have been a fantasy Tan user for 3 years and and a pro at mixing the solutions but they are not a DHA % based solution . Meaning they don't disclose the DHA % so you are more or less just working off colors (reds, greens etc.) anyways this was my first time spraying a 9% DHA solution on myself. I am really pale but tan fairly easy in the sun. So I tried the solution 9 last night and I am happy with it. Very natural even and I felt really moisturized after the spray. BUT I don't think I was any more tan then the FT proiduct I usually use. I was hoping for a little more color. I did only 1 coat but using my FT machine this used some where between 2 and 3ozs. So with all that said what would be more advisable to try the solution 12 or a mix of the 9 and 12 OR a 2nd coat of the 9????

Thanks
Jenny

Re: SJolie New Solution REVIEWS

Oh yeah and my question #2

my chest and shoulder area tanned much lighter (they ALWAYS DO).... (I know build up from conditioner and products etc) BUT what is a good way to fix that problem??? I have tried using baking soda and shower gel before a tan and I have tried clarifying shampoo and exfoliating gloves but I just have NO luck. Even tried Sluff wipes.... :( Would it be ok to use extra coates of the sjolie solution in this area or do I risk too much DHA from extra coates?

Miss Priss..Mike will answer you directly with his pro answer...BUT the 9% sounds more like your "winter" color and if you desiring a darker richer colore definately do two coats of the 9%(double dip) or just try one coat of 12%. I only use SJOLIE and found that mixing and playing is the best way to get the color you want. Just like with your other brand. As far as your chest and shoulders, if it was me...i would spray more coats there till you get the desired color. Someone else will have other suggestions im sure! Good luck...I heart Sjolie~

Hey mspriss08... I mix my solution , I do the 9% and 6%...but I also apply two light coats.. which gives a very beautiful tan. You could as well mix the 9% and 12%... with two light coats... that would provide a deeper tan.. which may be what you are looking for..

The plus sides to choosing to use Sjolie over Fantasy Tan are many... but the one that comes to mind is, as a business owner you will profit way more on a Sjolie product vereses FT due to cost of solution . It does take a little playing around to achieve the exact color that works best for you.. with my clients I do the following ALWAYS:

VERY Light Skin - 9% only

Light/Medium Skin- 6% & 9% mixture

Dark Skin- 6% & 12% mixture..

DHA drops may be an option for you as well. You can adjust your levels very easily.

Regarding your Chest and Shoulders... Use Sjolie's PH balancer before you spray, this will bring your ph balance up and provide a better surface for the DHA to absorb into.

I dont have much experience mixing solutions and Im just now giving SJolie a try. So far so good. How do you know what your final dha level will be when mixing solutions? I just dont want to be "suprised" with the result.

I'm unsure where I am DHA wise... but the results have been fabulous. My program works well for me, you can see some different types of tans in my portfolio..

If you do not feel comfortable with mixing the solutions, I would choose the DHA Booster Drops, that way you are sure of what % you are getting.

@ DHA Mixing Questions

Hello everyone, sorry for my delayed response as we were on 4th of July Vacation.

Down to the details:

When Mixing solutions, it really is all simple math when breaking it into an equation.

- When using 2 ounces of Solution 6, and 2 ounces of Solution 9 will give you 7 1/2% DHA Levels.

You will get used to your client types, and mix without any issues. We test every batch to check for consistency, to make sure our clients know what they are getting every time.

DHA Booster drops are commonly used as well, and are more exact when mixing.

- DHA Booster Instructions: Add 3 drops of DHA booster per 4oz. of tanning solution to increase solution by 1%.

Re: SJolie New Solution REVIEWS

I had one of my techs spray me with the sjolie 9% last night. I noticed that the bronzer in it had a slight greenish black color to it. I was sprayed at 7:30pm and waited to shower this morning at 9 am. I was so sticky all night. It felt terrible on my skin. The color got all over my sheets, comforter and clothing i put on after spraying. The results are ok but the stinkness would be a problem for my clients. My tech used 2 light coats on me? Is this a problem for anyone else? I also sprayed one of my techs with the 12% and did only one coat and she still gelt sticky. I am looking for a new product for my salon due to inconsistency with the manufacturing the current product I am using. We use the maximist pro gun and compressor.

Re: SJolie New Solution REVIEWS

Was this from a sample bottle or a quart/gallon?

There might have been exposure to high heat temperatures during delivery that could cause the solution to change consistency (green's/sticky/gunky/smells). This shouldn't be the case with our solution , and would be more common in a smaller bottle (sample size) as it would be easier to heat the entire bottle faster than a larger portion.

Please email me direct, and we can shoot you some help/replacements.

I also use the maximist gun and compressor. I set my gun between the 6 and 7 oclock position if you look at it as a clock. I do 2 light coats but I now use a blowdryer on the cold setting in between coats. It takes longer but my clients are less sticky. I then apply baby powder to the most sticky areas and I always wait a few hours before going to bed. It took some practice to get it perfect but I am happy now. I have tried atleast 6 other companies and this one is more olive brown where the others have a peachy tint. I put samples on white index cards as I tested them and when I look back at them they all seem to be the exact color except sjolie. I am fair but not a redhead and I use a mix of 6 and 9 and I look great! The 12 looked very un-natural on me but I use it on 2 of my darker clients. I hope this helped. search barefoot tans on facebook for pics.
