Craigslist Sunless Companies hate us! - tanTALK

Hello,

I usually post ads on criagslist for holiday specials for like $25/30. The reseon why so low, the economy here in So. Cali sucks. We get many new and repeated clients so our ads work and our clients keep coming back even when the holiday specials are over. Now just yesterday some other mobile sunless company(who popped up about 4 months ago and who copied my company website) posted this on Craigslist for the Los Angeles area and I'm pretty sure she was referring to me. She's gotta a point but guess what? We are the ones who are getting the business and are successful. So what do you think about all this. She wrote:

TO ALL Spray Tan providers "WHAT R YOU THINKING!!" (ALL LA~!!)

If you are a mobile sunless service and you are charging $25 for a spray, they have a point. I wouldn't do an airbrush in my salon for $25 and I sure wouldn't do mobile for $25. Why does everyone think that by being cheaper they are going to make more money. That only works if you are doing a large volume. Raise your price and get what you are worth.

I have to agree with them.

I have to agree as well....

All my competitors have cheaper prices than my studio,
I could care less, because my technique and now proprietary services and client base speaks for itself.

You will eventually run yourself out of business doing mobile @ 25/30 a pop... if not your biz your car ....

I can see why competitors are taking your prices as insulting (for LA County or OC County) and in essence a slap in the face to the industry in your area.

Agreed here too. Economy in Fl is in the tank, but I still get close to $40 per spray in my store. We have mobile in my area and it's cheap. My clients return to me and that's all I worry about.

That's the thing though...right now the mobile competitors are around L.A. and the OC are doing $30-$35. I'm just doing the $25 special for the holidays. I did that last year and it was a success.

what is the regular price of your mobile tanning service? Is this 'special' a static fee no matter where they are located?

whats the % of those new $25 clients calling for your regular priced tan after the special is over?

Maybe you could offer packages? give me a call or email me and i can explain a better alternative for you :)

Nope a different one, this one is in Los Angeles. She tried to sabatoge me about 3 weeks ago on Craigslist by posting an ad saying that my company turned her orange. She didn't say names but it seemed like it was towards us. We never even tanned her.
