Need Help Immediately!

Hey all,

I went out on a mobile tan last night and everything went perfectly, just like normal but then my client called this morning and said her legs were incredibly blotchy--like to the point she couldn't wear a dress. I'm totally shocked, we've NEVER had this issue before and we've done about a million tans. I was wondering what you think the reason could be, and also what I should have her do to remedy the situation? Obviously I am going to visit her today but wanted some suggestions.

Re: Need Help Immediately!

could she have shaved with a razor that had a moisturizer strip on it? sometimes it can leave a residue on their legs and the solution won't adhere-leaving it blotchy

Ooh okay, that might have been it. She did mention that she took a shower and shaved like an hour before we arrived. What is the best way to fix it if someone is looking blotchy??

I would re-spray her. You should be able to avoid spraying the already dark parts. Then I would sell her a self tinted moisturizer . It could've been the way she slept if she sweats.

Yeah, the moisturiser she used on her legs from the shaving creme or other was mostlikely the reason it didn't take. She should wait a few hours after shaving like as long as possible.

Okay, well good to know it wasn't us at least. Should I have her exfoliate again before I re-spray her?

Re: Need Help Immediately!

I have mixed feelings about respraying it isn't always for the best- legs wouldn't really bother me as much as respraying someone’s chest or face. You really won't be able to decide until you see for yourself some people have a tendency to make a big deal out of nothing. If they just look really light colored then I would just go over them and not have her exfoliate - do remind her not to shower or get wet for 8 to 12 hours. If they do look terribly blotchy I would be hesitate to respray them and possibly having them look really dark and blotchy. Unfortunately spray tanning works for my clients 99% of the time too, but every once in the while it can have a different reaction to 1 person's skin.

Yeah I know, I'm a little wary of re-spraying too, but she has an event tomorrow and a "hot date" which she bought a new strapless dress for...so unfortunately she can't just ride this one out. :-P
