Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Spray tanning pageant kids What are your thoughts on spray tanning children? I have a couple of pageant moms that want me to spray tan their girls (ages 5 and 7) for pageants. Anyone have exeperience with squirmming kids? tips or advice is appreciated. Thanks! |

Number one, its not the issue of standing there for 10 minutes to get sprayed, but afterwards when you don't want them near water or to sweat when they are running around playing would be a major issue. Secondly, although kids skin doesn't need as much moisturization as adults do, maintaining the tan would be another thing to think about. Third, what if they had a reaction to it? (Most) adults can deal with ailments or injuries better than kids can. And fourth...its just plain wrong!!! But, that's just me. :) |

There was a TV reality show about pageant kids, and they showed a few getting sprayed... knowing how to move their bodies, not to swirm, etc. As far as a reaction, you can always demo/trial them first? I once judged a kid pageant -- parents really drive their kids to win & get all wrapped up in the game - they want their kids to be perfect looking. Have fun : )

I've sprayed several pageant girls, and have had very little problems. I always let the parent know that if the child seems scared, or upset, I won't continue the spray. Usually 6 and up are ok. I had the misfortune of spraying a 3 year old (almost 4) once and have decided that I won't do that again. She could not be still and she ended up ruining the spray by sucking on her lower lip and drooling when she drank something after the spray. I don't approve of the whole child pageant thing, but it's my job to provide a service, not judge a client wanting the service. That's how I look at it.
