I feel that the machine matters in so much as how it will be used. Mobile? Inside a quiet spa? Will you be doing alot of contouring? You are a big part of how well the tan will turn out. Someone using same machine and solution can do a poor job, depends alot on the tech.IMO

You can take a great tanning solution , and a bad application makes for a poor result. The RIGHT equipment is VERY important. The correct system will make the application process a no brainier. Beware of price being your motivator to purchase the right system, 90% of the industry can do quite well and make plenty of money and never spend more than $500.00 or less on a complete system. There are many systems on the market sold for $1000.00's of dollars that spray like crap but are really pretty to look at. You want pretty tans, that's all that matters.

All the advice above is great. I went thru the same dilemma. I spent 1300.00 and I think I was over charged. I have seen some systems for 300.00 which are HVLP. Get only HVLP. There are sites that sell Accu-spray -which is what Norvelle sells for 2000.00, and I have seen the same machine for 500.00...not chump change-it's a Big investment in this economy. Take a few hours/days to research. Contact an Accuspray dealer...thats your best bet. Wish I would have done that. You can get a cheaper price - check 3M as well. Stay away from BodyBronze or BronzeBody. They try to sell you a "Certification" on tanning-which you don't need. It's companies like them that open a can of WORMS, to the government-yet Another way for our gov't to make money trying to make us all get "certified".

Why wouldn't you want to get certified? FYI...before Bodybronze offered equipment/ certification packages they wouldn't sell their products to individuals who hadn't completed a certification program. While certification is a painless process, it commands more respect from your clients when they know you have had some sort of training/ certification. People will ask all of the time if you have to have special training to do spray tanning . Why wouldn't you want to let them know you are have taken extra steps to educate yourself? There is already too many uneducated, hobby spray tanners that give spray tanning a bad name out there.

OMG. I hate some of the companies out there! You DO NOT need to be Certified. There are So many Free tutorials online, Plus on YouTube....call the company you got your, um, CERTIFICATION from, and tell them you want that charge credited back to your acct. If they refuse, tell them you will contact a lawyer and file a DTPA suit against them (Deceptive Trade Practices Act). Tomorrow call your bank to dispute the charge due to DTPA, deceptive claims by them. It will take a few days to get the money refunded-but worth it. By the way-what company wasz this?? Please post it

Re: need help please deciding what to buy !!!!

WHY PAY for a certification when you can get free DVD's, or Tutorials online?? I practiced on friends, and I am Very qualified now. I watched @ least 30 different tutorials, and when it came to me doing clients, after a month-I was "Certifiably Skilled" at spraying clients. Recently sprayed the cast for a country video in Nashville.

This "certification crap is going to get the gov't involved-which is what we DO NOT want-then there will be training scholls popping up-we'd pay a Hefty fee for a useless certification-and we're all screwed unnecessarily out of money. Just my opinion....and the Gov't is a dishonest group of thieves anyway-and I don't want their 2 cents in my
A-s pocket

Re: need help please deciding what to buy !!!!

ANY ONLINE CERTIFICATION IS A COMPLETE JOKE AND RIP OFF. IT MEANS NOTHING BUT A PROFIT FOR WHOEVER GAVE YOU THAT PRETTY CERTIFICATE.

THIS IS AN UNREGULATED INDUSTRY, AND UNTIL IT IS YOU ARE GETTING SCAMMED.

THAT INCLUDES ANYBODY THAT TRAINS YOU ONE ON ONE, THE TRAINING MAYBE WORTH IT TO YOU, BUT ANY PAPER THEY HAVE YOU HANG ON THE WALL IS WORTHLESS.

TOTAL JOKE!!!

WAKE UP PEOPLE!
