For those of you that are worried about the trace amounts of Arsenic, Lead, and Mercury that have been said to be found in D.H.A solutions in all my years working in that industry I was alway informed that the levels are no greater than what can be found in the average homes tap water supply but what I would recommend is that you contact the manufacturer of your solution to find out. You would have to think that any manufacturer who was making a product they knew would be sprayed on tens of thousands of people maybe hundreds of thousand would do some type of clinical testing before they release such a product to insure safety. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Need info on the spray tanning being dangerous topic... Eileen Thank you.Thats exactly my point. And because D.H.A solutions are 70%+ water I would have to imagine thats where the arsenic, mercury, and lead levels come from? And since the water tables very from state to state I have to also imagine the content levels do also? So a great question for the manufacturer would be do you have your water supply tested on a regular basis and do you use any type of water filtration system or reverse osmosis to purify the water for your D.H.A solutions. This is important because D.H.A solutions are cold blended because of the heat sensitivity of the actual D.H.A and erythrulose that may be used in them. This is also a very important issue because your dry skin absorbs a certain amount of that water during the spray tan process. |

Because working in the manufacturing end of that industry it was alway put these levels are no greater than what in found in everyday home tap water and left at that? It was never suggested to me that those levels came from the D.H.A itself. As far as the water that could play a factor because unless a filtration system or some kind of purification system is used it most likely would still be present in the water just like at home. Public water is public water. And since D.H.A solutions are cold blended I could see it could be found unless the water was purified before hand. I guess another thing to look for on the labels now is how the water is listed is it Distilled, De-Ionized, Purified etc. |

I am sorry, I have nothing but respect for most of you and I have spent literally hours and hours reading these posts, that being said, I have 2 things to say about the things said on this thread: 1. Are we still in the dark ages when it comes to the subject of chirpractors? Did you know that chiropractors go through just as much, if not more schooling than the average doctor? I have a friend that is my personal chiropractor and he is by far the most knowledgable doctor (and, yes, he is a doctor) I have ever went to. Besides, if they were the quacks that many people believe that they are, why do most insurances cover them now? 2. As for the topic of lead, arsenic and whatever else in the DHA, I personally believe it probably comes from the water used in the solutions. And the comment about "that's why bottled water is so popular"...there have been many news stories stating that the majority of bottled so-called "spring water" is nothing but tap water that the manufacturers bottle up and sell at a much higher price. I agree with what some have said, which is that there are trace amounts of lead and mercury and arsenic in just about everything, you can't really escape it. Now if it had a dangerous level of those things I would definitely stay away from it, but otherwise I am not worried. |
