Yes they are on this site ,but not sure what naming them will do except spark another debate.

The problem in my opinion is that it seems to be really rocking what was becoming a great synergistic environment. It seems to spark more of an ugly debate back and forth, which at some point makes you wonder..... what the heck the original topic was to start with?

I personally service and promote BOTH UV and Sunless.

I see the bigger picture here in that this is a forum of Entrepreneurs who HAPPEN to have an affinity and can share great business concepts (Brian you are one of them). But sadly, not everyone sees things that way and it is becoming downright hostile at times.

I think it is time for different playgrounds. People can use one or both.

I came back to TanTalk with the new operation, but truthfully am considering ducking back out because it is back peddling into bad energy again.

There are so many incredible people/mentors and new things I've learned here and that is what gets my "Jones" and why I am here and how I grow as a person and a business.

Crystal, the madness has to stop. 99% of the newbies that join this site, if asked, will say UV is bad, they care about their clients, that's why they want to spray them instead because it's a safe alternative.

That's the reality and these people need to be educated. Some of them only learn their lessons the hard way. I've posted several times using actual studies and scientific evidence showing these morons that they're WRONG. But guess what? There is no better place to educate so called "professionals" than a forum for professionals. The ones that can't handle it leave. The ones who understand it, learn, share, and contribute to this site. There are plenty of sunless members on this board that have respect for the UV industry and can contribute their experiences.

The UV bashers don't belong here, and the companies WE ALL support, should all be supporting us.

What I do know is that I am NO LONGER going to stand by and have people take up my valuable time and tap onto my YEARS of business knowledge, college, reading, research and expertise to help them build their new business just so they can turn around and undermine what I do. Go get a business degree yourself.

Here is the irony of it all.

I am shocked, dumbfounded and just clueless as to why that they don't use the more OBVIOUS marketing to take my business. It is being approached the WRONG way. Silly people in my mind that just copy the person before them with marketing and cannot break outside the mainstream thinking for themselves. Monkey see, monkey do.

I have been doing this for quite some time and have YEARS and YEARS of data on WHY people leave tanning and it is NOT because of the media scare tactics. If the media scare tactics worked NOBODY would EVER take prescription drugs...Birth Control...do you hear the disclaimers on the TV commercials....YET how many people use BC pills?

The MAJORITY of my cancellations are because people don't have TIME to tan. WHY would you not market to that? WHY....Because instead of research and really doing your OWN homework you can just ask other people how THEY did it and just copy that.

The SMART approach

No TIME to tan......get a QUICK tan with air brush
Fair skinned? Not able to tan.....come see me
Tan twice a month vs 3 days a week...come spray
Tired buying goggles?
Tired of buying expensive lotions?
Tired of waiting in line?
Tired of sweating in hot beds?

THAT will appeal more to people than..OMG...stay out of the light...RUN RUN RUN from the sun...cancer cancer cancer...danger danger danger. I use scare tactics....I am going to send you home with nightmares.

Market with things that are POSITIVES. Market with the realistic reasons that will get people to come in. This is a society of "Got to have it now" and they don't capitalize on that .....the NUMBER ONE REASON WE LOSE TANNERS is lack of TIME to tan.

I can at least appreciate that they are using a more accurate way to market against the UV industry.

As a consumer I pesonally gravitate to a positive business. How about you?

If I go to buy a car and the salesmen starts telling me that I need to buy his Ford car because if you drive a Chevy you could get decapitated in a front end collision or your child could be crushed and DIE in a side car crash. Driving is scary and KILLS. You are at a higher risk for DEATH each time you drive so you need to buy our car or risk DEATH..how does that sound?

they should just interveiw me! i've been tanning for over 20 years...using the best products...gravitated to better tanning units(HP)...have a mystic and would'nt use it to save my life! sticky goo! i'll tell any client, i prefer tanning in a bed! my skin is fine! i look younger than my age, not older! we sell/push only high end salon quality lotions for ones skin while tanning. what do they all use outdoors? cheap azz crap from walmart! all of them! i use only cal tans outdoor products and even DS's Halo, loaded with nutrients for optimal skin care, while out in the sun. If there was only someone to advertise all the positive benefits of tanning indoors. we can't match the monies of the ADA. tanning in a professionally run salon or sunworshipping? i take the professionally run salon!! Fake tan? i think its all a fake tan? spray,beds,sun....but natural tan? its the sun or bed!! damaging my skin? i'll take a nice HP tan forever!! using a spray and never building any base tan in your skin only opens you up for sunburn once you ever do go out in the sun!! if i remember correctly theres more cases of skin cancer up here in the north than the south like florida! why? cause floridians have a base tan yearly and rarely burn, northerners take a break from the sun in the winter months...and go out each spring and "burn" thus having more cases of skin cancer!! the stats tell the story! its SMARTER to tan indoors!!! using only higher quality tanning lotions while tanning. TAN IN MODERATION, NEVER BURN AND ALWAYS USE A SALON QUALITY TANNING LOTION.

I'm going to call Norvell on Monday and see what they have to say. Norvell is not directly bashing. But, to be tied to Artesian who IS bashing, heavily IMO- It needs addressed.
