Rep Power: 0 | Solution coming off in the bath? I have a client that I have sprayed twice. Each time she has had great results, but her complaint is that it washes off the next day while taking her bath. She said, "none of it stayes on". I did notify her that some of the color would come off, but she would have the color that has developed underneath. Is there something I can do? I don't think it's the quality of my solution to blame. I use what everyone else on here is using. Suggestions please! |

That is just there so spray techs can see where they are applying the solution and to give the client some instant gratification until the chemical reaction process between the D.H.A and the skin take place. And depending on the time that you sprayed her and the time that she showered there may have not been enough time to see any chemical reaction process between the D.H.A and her skin and that may be way she is thinking she is not tan but still could develope a tan. Depending on the percentage of D.H.A in your solution and the skin type your client has it can take 18 to 24 hours for her to see results? Unless she showered very early after the tan then she may not see anything at all. Most D.H.A solutions require that your client not shower or get wet for at least 8 hours after the spray session. Anotherr thing you could ask her and should ask before you spray tan her is did she shower and exfoliate right before she came to her session? Was she wearing any type of mosituizer or petrolum based products on her body because that will keep a water based solution from penetrating into the skin properly and may leave very little or no chemical reaction tanning color to the skin. If she claims that she did this check and test your solution on yourself to make sure its working. And finally you stated this is the second time is has happened to her? Have you asked her to come down and have you take a look at her tan? There is alway the possibility it is working? |

Rep Power: 16 | Re: Solution coming off in the bath? Have her wear a sticker; panties or something next time you spray her. This way when the cosmetic washes off she can see that she did indeed get color. This is something that each NEW client should be made aware of, otherwise they will think it washed off. Go over it with them while your spraying them. This is also a good time to sell some at home product.

Re: Solution coming off in the bath? I wonder if she is using any bath products that have any citrus in them? Lemon, grapefruit, lime or any citric acid added to bath soaps or washes will take that color off fast. I used a grapefruit body wash from Victoria's and it stripped my color practically off. HA!! When I get it on my hands I cannot get it off for the life of me but one shower in the grapefruit wash and it took it right off my body. Last edited by CrystalSS; 08-20-2009 at 01:20 AM. | |

Is that the only client who has a problem not staying any color after first wash off? if so you might want to see her preparation what products she used before her tan, but I would not rule out solution , may be a bad batch? so first things on your part to make sure it develops the color , I would get spray my self and few others just to see the color and how it works on everyone. sticker idea is great we do that a lot and works for customer to see the difference in color. Crystal SS, I have heard and seen some shower gel stripping the tan , not due to the fragrance or even essential oils but surfactant in the product, all the shower gel and wash off products have them, some has strong and some has mild, I would suggest customer who are using store bought shower gel or body wash, use sparingly, you don't always have to see so much foam to clean the body, using sparingly and apply very soft without any cloth or puffs just by hand so no exfoliation happens. but please don't tell them grapefruit or citrus will take the tan off, actually solution with citrus scents not essential oils are best to avoid DHA developing smell. Hope this helps. |

Rep Power: 17 | Re: Solution coming off in the bath? Is she getting any color at all? If she is waiting the full 8 hours and doing the proper preparation, then perhaps you should try a higher percentage formula or apply what you're currently using a little heavier. Some people are somewhat resistant to dha. Do a search on this site and see what pops up.. maybe it applies to your situation. |

No one is ever bashing you.......so layoff! We are working people here trying to get advise from others that may have a bit more experience. Not listen to your name calling childish comments :) Go take a happy pill it may make you feel better and then you may have something nicer or lets just say postitve to say next time. Good Day! |
