Rep Power: 0 | Has anyone ever gotten headache, dizzy? I got really, really sick after my last tanning party. It was OUTSIDE and I wore a nose filter. As soon as I got home, I was dizzy, inside of nose burned, nauseous, headache, and my ears ached. This lasted for about 3 days. Has anyone ever had any or all of these symptoms? I am very curious. I have only found one complaint like this on the internet. This happened to someone when they got home from the spray tan booth. EXACT same symptoms. If something is in the solutions that could make us sick, I think we should know about it! I make good money at a tanning party but no amount of money is worth getting sick!!!!! P.S. I opened for business in March, I noticed my nose burning (with nose filters) around May. The party that made me sick was in July. Yes, I went to the doctor, he told me to quit! Thank GOD, nothing like this has happened to any of my clients! |

Anyway, I would suggest wearing a mask instead of the nose filters. The filters seem okay for the client, since they are not in it nearly as much as we are, but for ourselves, I think the mask is best! Hope you are feeling better! Nor have they tested the effect DHA has on the mucus membranes that can absorb DHA...but every derm and doc out there recommend you avoid tanning and slather DHA all over you. It's only a matter of time before we're reading the "DHA is bad for you" headline. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Has anyone ever gotten headache, dizzy? If you are going to do this for a living then you need to invest in appropriate ventilation systems. Just spraying in a room with a box fan with a filter on it or into a tent is not sufficient. You need to wear a charcoal respirator, not a dust mask but a respirator and provide adequate ventilation. This is one reason that this should not be done as a mobile business. There is no way to adequate provide protection for the customer or technician in a mobile environment unless you outfit a box truck as a portable spray booth. Ever read your city water report? Are you going to stop using the shower in your home? I was spraying OUTSIDE at the tanning party NOT in a room with a box fan! I'm asking if anyone has had similar symptoms. I don't need a lecture on ventilation. I spray OUTSIDE. Aren't YOU a mobile tech? |

If you don't think they should sell tents, sprayers or solutions to mobile people, your going to have to take that up with someone else. I don't know anything about it. |

If you are going to huff that crap all day everyday then you will end up with problems over it. They are your lungs so I won't lecture you but you asked so.... What is the reluctance to wearing one? Are you afraid that you will be sending the wrong message to your clients when you have a gas mask on? Again, they are your lungs and if you can put up with a little chemical irritation and potential long term damage then by all means go for it. Go into a salon that does it regularly and look around at the walls and other fixtures in there. They are coated with that sticky, nasty crap®. That is what the insides of your lungs will look like. Similar to the walls in a pool hall before they banned indoor smoking. Last edited by Brian Oshman; 08-16-2009 at 07:49 PM. |
